who can beet me on high miles ????

My daily OCC has 379k miles on original 305, with no rebuild, I do keep it very well maintained and have only replaced upper gaskets, and normal maintenance.

Just hit 75000 miles in my 91 OCC and am glad to hear that yours is still running good at almost 400000 miles.Hope you didnt jinx yours by bragging about it! 

timing chain must look like a rubber band,..

I had a chev pickup wear a hole in the timing chain cover because the chain was so loose,.

do you have verifiable documentation on this mileage?

Yea the timing chain in my 86 C10 was stretched enough to cause driveability issues at 90k miles. You must have replaced it by this point...

Also, my OCC is at 95k........

On the original 305? I'm impressed, my 91 had 113k on it and ran on oil!

They will go forever if maintained properly. My 94 has 270k, but I cheated and blew it up at 225k and started over!!

I bought from a guy I knew, he had since it had 80k, and he maintained it aswell as I do, never skipped on oil changes, or routine checks etc.it doesn't burn oil or smoke or tick, still has good power. I have a ls motor and tranny sitting in the corner of shop begging to go in, but I really feel like I should continue, just to see how far this 305 will go

My 91 305 only has 260K on it. Glad to know she's good for at least another 100, lol. My goal is round trip distance to the moon. (238,855 one way). This one is on the way back!

What kind of maintainence have you performed? My 93 Fleetwood (same motor) just turned 94,000 and still runs as smooth as a new car. All I've done since I bought it 4 years ago (with about 83,000 I think) is a normal tune up and very regular oil changes. And, what part of the country are you in? Is rust a problem for you? Pictures?

227k on my '91 - original engine/tranny too.

a guy i work with has a 91 476k original untouched motor,been thru 3 trannys (junk yard ones) 1 rear end,still drives it everywhere planning to do 500 k,
