| Just had a guy offer me his '96 Impala SS for $900. HOLD ON! Tree fell on it during the storms here in Alabama Monday night, 4/28/14. Say's it got the trunk, roof, and hood all bad. He also has a '96 wagon he told me that I could get any parts off it I wanted. $900? Worth it? Opinions. Of course first thing that came to mind was those wonderful LT1 engines and a swap from the 305 that I have currently in my wagon. Then the seats and door panels from Impala, then the....list kept growing while talking to him, so I aked how much for the whole Impala. That brings me back to the original question...$900? | |

| What was the condition of the SS before the tree fell on it?Are you getting a title with the SS,beware of swindlers, they come out of their holes whenever there is a tornado and great loss of property. |

| Scrap price is about $500. You should not pay more, no matter what. The wagon??? Depends on the condition and mileage.
You may find it a bit more work than you think, putting an LT1 in a TBI car. Always check the mileage.
For $900 at a pick-n-pull you can get a complete LQ4 and trans with the computer, wiring and FEAD. | |

| You can part the SS and make a killing, even more if the driver's seat is good. | |

| After sleeping on it...don't think I would buy the whole car. Yes an LT swap into the wagon would be more trouble than it's worth. May get back with him on getting some pieces off of each car though. Wow in the "heat of the moment" all that sounded really good though! | |

| if it were me the reason you can buy both of them for $900 because the do I do it in the drop of a hat around here these B bodies are damn near impossible to find it and pick a part junk yards are non existent beautiful these parts are cheap and they're getting damn near impossible to find regardless of whether or not you can use them I would think you could sell at least 900 parts right here on the form an lt1 with tranny is a minimum of 500 around here. | |

| If I had the time I would jump on this opportunity. There is some $$ to be made and/or a stash of parts to be had. I have a guy just down the road from me with 2 pre LT1 roady wagons in his driveway. They have not run for YEARS and I talked to him about 2 years ago about buying them. They should be available for scrap price, but I do not have the time or energy to strip them and would have to turn them around from my driveway VERY quickly to keep the neighbors happy. If I have another wagon guy locally that had storage, I would be all over them. | |

| Yes.......show up with $800, you could make that much back on the drivetrain and wheels alone. | |

| It depends what your needs are. If it has 4 ss rims and good tires then maybe 800 and part the hell out of it.
