|   This is what my wagon looks like with gas shocks (no more air shocks), and 1150 lbs. of patio blocks in the back. Power wasn't a problem, and stopping wasn't bad, handling, especially steering feel was a bit, um....... unsettling. What a work horse! I don't need no stinking pick-up truck! | |

Tow rating is 5000lbs. Not sure what the GVW limit was. -Mike | |

| Vehicle capacity weight 1199lbs. Of course that's evenly distributed, not just in the cargo area. And that's also assuming with the load leveling factory air shock set up. | |

| How much weight is in the cargo area of that first picture? The front is up, back in down.,
Looks overloaded for some reason.

| Both pictures were taken after I got back home from Lowe's (like a Home Depot) with 1150 pounds of patio block. It had "enhanced" power steering ! | |

| Just be careful, that sounds like you might have overloaded the axle a little. Not that I haven't done the same with our BMW wagon... | |

| The chrome on the steel area is a bit sketchy, but the center alum. part of the rims is doing pretty good chrome wise. I just want to order some nice polished stainless steel trim rings to hide the blackened area. Other than that....... | |

| Steve,I meant that I have seen a very light 70 Nova with a built small block break a keystone rim mounted on the rear axle twice.Guess I just never could trust them after that! |

Correct. Figure on 3 in front, 3 in middle, and 2 rug rats (or dogs) in the very back. I removed the small rear seat to gain some extra storage space. Usually just me in the car, sometimes my wife. Kinda wish I didn't have to use the old girl to haul everything from scrap metal, construction materials, tree limbs, lawn equipment, furniture, etc. She hasn't failed me so far even when towing a '99 Grand Prix on a tow dolly up & down in the mountains of West Virginia. Only had cargo mounted on the roof once (dining room table and a couple chairs), but that was hauling items approx. 1000 miles from Fla. to PA.
I'd still prefer a full size wagon for overall daily use that a full size pick-up truck. | |

| I had over 1300 lbs of ceramic tile in one of the L03 wagons. It was bottomed out on the springs and the steering felt REALLY light kind of like driving a boat. I figure the front wheels were barely touching the ground lol. | |
