| Hi all. Going down gravel road either a rock bounced or maybe a bottom out but split fuel line just forward of fuel filter. Noticed that line is some kind of plastic coated material. Is the fuel line section easily replaced as a roadside repair? Thanks in advance. Ken | |

| You can replace it with high pressure fuel hose which is thicker and more rubbery in nature. You'll have to engineer a way to connect it via clamps or fittings though. | |

| Hi
thanks for info re: nylon lines. I tried to crimp the line with vise-grip to keep from dumping all the gas, but that just wouldn't work. Nylon would explain that.
I will hit parts store this morning for parts

Yes, thanks bought a dorman repair kit that had one end connector for fuel filter. Unfortunately it had the barb-style splice - didn't know until I was way out at the break-down site that the nylon is supposed to be heated in boiling water to soften it for the barb connector. Best I could do roadside was to heat a socket on rescue car engine, then place over nylon fuel line. Got connector in far enough that didn't leak. Then gassed up and found that the fuel filter had taken some damage as well . That leak was just a drop every couple of seconds, so I high-tailed it back to my place, and replaced the filter. All is good now. cheers Ken | |
