If one exists already, please let me know! I read that December 13 1996 was when GM cancelled the B Platform, is that true? And the 13th is tomorrow. If so, shouldn't we have a special day just for the whales? What are your thoughts on having a whale, or wagon day? Even though every day here is about the whales. Wink i asked a few whale owners on a whale IG page I run, and they said it would be a great day for it.

I vote yes! Save the whales and raise awareness!

I agree. It would mark the end of both an era and a lifestyle.

You could include us Boxie guy's too, Call it GM"B"all day.

I know you guy's are tryin' to save the whales, but Boxie's are early ancestor's, and we all share the same bones...

Just one old fart's opinion.

Include the boxys as the whales square edged parents.

Boxies are the B-body wagons before the final 91-96 design. They are big slabs of metal that look like boxes without the bacon inside.

Haha! I think BBody wagon day was appropriate, because the whales came from the boxies. Like Paul said. Maybe all wagons deserved a holiday. lol

FYI the state of Michigan just approved that may 14th be forever known as Corvair Day. the 14th of may 1969 being the day the very last corvair left the Willow run Factory. I thought that was pretty cool.

So I would think the day the last B Body wagon left the factory become B Body Wagon Day.

Here are some pictures I took at the first official Corvair day in Willow Run Michigan last thursday May 14th. Tha afternoon was very interesting since a few of the GM designers and the actual men who worked on the corvair were there sharing stories and their experiences with the corvair. The tie in with our wagons is that many of the men who's careers at the Willow run assembly plant started by assembling the corvairs their careers ended in 1993 while building Caprices and roadmasters at the time the plant was shut down. one of the engineers I spoke with actually worked on the redesign of the caprice in the late 80's before taking on the buick reatta project.

On a side note, last Thursday I got to personally thank the Engineer who designed the car that saved my life.

Is that your white RM sedan Pat?

I remember the Corvairs. My friends father had a Spider convertible, it was pretty peppy. It had a few more HP than the standard engine. But what I remember most about the Corvairs was the fumes when you turned on the heat. It was BAD.

no not mine, the owner claims it's a 95, but it's a 92, the vin tag had white rivets.......

My budy who's corvair we drove there in had no heat, the heat pipes rusted out and and the blower wasn't there so it was a cold drive there in the early morning air at 36f
