I need a little help finding inside and outside tailgate window wipes, for my '89 Buick Le Sabre.
I found a GM part number, 20225797 listed as a water deflector. Other places call it a watershed. NOBODY I found had it in stock...

OK all you google ninjas........... sic 'em

Thanks, Paul

Well, the tailgate window rubbers , inner and outer, have got to be the holy grail. Still searching and calling, NOBODY, I've contacted, has any in stock, or showed the least interest in producing some.

Does anybody know the process to produce a knock off?

I've cast several small rubber parts, using a Dow chemical product, to pull a mold from a plaster of paris positive. Brake pads and E brake handles, ETC, but have no idea how to start with a piece of this size. I assume that the mold will have to be a 2 piece. to allow for the metal strip in the outer.

I guess if I want one, (and all our boxie's are gonna need them eventually) I'm gonna have to make it myself, Any body that can help? Perhaps a set in good enough shape to pull a mold from?

I / WE can continue searching, but I'm beginning to lose hope.

Thanks again, Paul

Honestly, I have no idea what part you are referring to. Maybe a pic would help turn up some results for you.

On my '89 Buick Boxie, there is a (used to be) SOFT RUBBER SEAL, rides against the outside of the tailgate glass, at the very top of the tailgate, mounted inside, of the tailgate skin. There is a much smaller rubber wipe/seal, on the INSIDE of the tailgate, (looks very similar to the inside door glass, rubber wind lace) that seems to clip/snap to the tailgate sheet metal, much like the door window sweeps do.

Both pieces seem to be molded around a metal mounting / reinforcement  strip.
Best I can do for a description...

If you Google the part number in the OP, there is a line drawing @ GM Parts.com

Thanks, Paul
