| There is a place I pass daily by the name of "Savannah Auto Air". I understand that they do custom work. the AC is the ONLY reason I haven't installed my headers. I need to go by there on Monday.... I'll ask then and let you know. _________________ Official "Group W" Spokesman 96 Roadmaster wagon, WB4, Custom 2.5" exhaust, SSRI, Performance tune, and a bunch of other stuff |

| More like 4.5 hours ( it's 2 hours from here to the 26/77 interchange in Columbia)

| Gotcha. I can be in Columbia in 2 hours (or under) if traffic is good. Well, let me know. Honestly, if they can make the hardline section (from where the rubber hose ends to where you bolt up to the AC compressor) just rubber or braided stainless....it would work fine.
I do plan to buy some of the velcro heat shielding/wrap to protect the lines.
If you go this route (Summit or Afterburners) I would recommend smaller headed header bolts. The ones that came with the headers worked, but would be a pain to tighten if the fenders were on the car. You have to do them all with a wrench, by hand. The ones I used with the Tri-Y install (came with) had a smaller head and I rigged up a special wrench to easily tighten.
Hope that makes sense.
Oh, also....I had to loosen the transmission dipstick bracket (bolt in the back of the head) and shove the engine harness up and out of the way. You have to do this to have some wrench room to tighten that very back header bolt. Piece of cake on the drivers side.
I did bring BOTH sides of the headers up from the BOTTOM. I did not want to try from the top as it might scratch up the finish a bit. _________________ -- 1995 Jadestone Limited RMW from Atlanta (pushing to complete...) -- 1988 Cavalier (Daily Beater aka 'Lil Buddy) |

| Before you pay for custom fabbed up stuff - aren't you going to at least try to impose your will upon the ones you already have? |

| The front primary looks just the one on my Afterburners. Little hard to explain how to bend them but this what they look like when finished. I cracked mine slightly because I didn't brace the correct portion while bending. I did install a set on an Impala without busting the lines and his AC still works. |

| Those look great, Chris! I thought I told you to get the 3/4" long, ARP 5/16" head, 12 point, header bolts? Those make it a snap! I still haven't gotten anything done with my AC lines. Sorry! |

| Nice! was it absolutely necessary to cut those frame brackets, or did you do it for looks/ease of installation? I was under the impression that removing these wasn't mandatory.
Also, are you re-programming your PCM for the EGR bypass? If so, what are you doing? I can only seem to find threads where folks sent their PCM out to get done. I'd like to know the specifics since I run a bastardized program (I think I'm on revision "n").
This'll be ready for Wagonfest, yes? |

| Yeah, I have a program edited by a friend that I will upload via AKM cable (I am doing the OBD I conversion too) So I am not a program guy! I use what flashes I get! lol You can see where I marked the path of the frame braces (you can still see where they were mounted) No way will it work on the driver's side. Passenger side might work. They came off easily with a Dremel and 2 lil cutoff wheels. Once you start, it goes like budda. I know 94Woody had no problems with his Afterburners and the braces. I am glad to have the room to work without them anyhow. I hear they are really only for dampening vibration. With the wussy welds and weak metal, I doubt these things were adding any significant structural benefits. _________________ -- 1995 Jadestone Limited RMW from Atlanta (pushing to complete...) -- 1988 Cavalier (Daily Beater aka 'Lil Buddy) |

| Yeah, looking at the Afterburners...they clear a mile wide. These Summit ones will not clear. You can see from his pic. Design is not quite the same. _________________ -- 1995 Jadestone Limited RMW from Atlanta (pushing to complete...) -- 1988 Cavalier (Daily Beater aka 'Lil Buddy)

Gonna go back to the carport and fix that.
