Hello all.
I've just gotten home (Montgomery, Texas) from Sacramento CA where I picked up the '93 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon I just purchased on e-Bay. Had no problems on the trip that were not self induced like leaving the interior lights on overnight.Embarassed
Glad to find this forum since I'll be doing my research post-purchase.
I've been a wagon fan since the "Car & Driver" Boss Wagon series (and yes, I'm another of those old guys) but this is the first one I've owned.  I'd originally thought about following the Boss Wagon template, but I think I'll just enjoy it in stock form for a while.

Tried the image insert function . No bueno  11:16:14  10.27.2015
OK - I'll search for the FYI on adding pictures.
..... and I'll post picture in a week.

Welcome. Used to hang out on the bimmer.org forums, jeez must have been 10-12 years ago when I had my e39 540 and then a 525iT 5 speed. Quite possibly the pinnacle of the brand, especially the M5. Everything since has been a descent into wretched excess, both in terms of styling and technology.

I've already learned quite a bit from the site. Think that in the long run, I'll be happier with non-LT version. Love the fully instrumented cluster.

IMO the only advantage to the LT-1 is power.

The lt1 cars keep your local transmission shop in business too.

The original trans in my car was rebuilt last year. I'll start saving for the next rebuild at 700,000 miles. PO kept a notebook in the glove compartment with maintenance notes since 88,000. Nice!

One of the first mods with these wagons should be a shift improver kit,..it will definitely extend the life of an older unit,.just cleaning the force motor screen improves things,..

Decided that the suspension needed help, so rather than struggle with new bushings etc, I've gone with all new Moog Problem solver parts, BMR sway bar, Bilsteins out front and BMR control arms and Bilsteins in the back.
I'm undecided on springs and rear sway bar. No plans for AutoX or track work, but my butt is used to a firmer setup than the current RMW.
Any suggestions on the "perfect" spring and rear sway are welcome.

Sprocket,
Thank you. I feel lucky to have snagged it. So far it's been a total joy. Trip from Sacramento to Houston was great.
