Guys I have too many cars for the driveway. We just picked up an awesome deal on a 2015 Chevy SS , the time has come to clean out the stable. This was my wife’s car and she is gonna cry when it leaves.
50K on rebuilt LT1. All machine work performed by the same shop that builds Big Johns “Bad Bowtie”
CIA Gen 2 Tri Y headers
Brian Herter PCM Tune
Dual Electric fans with a Mezeire electric water pump.
40K miles on new transmission.
10K miles on a completely rebuilt front and rear suspension
New upper and lower control arms, new  tierods, new ball joints, Gen 2 F Body front sway bar.
Metco Upper and Lower trailing arms.
Hotchkis Rear sway bar.
6K miles on new fuel pump and fuel sending unit.
5K miles on a custom bent 2 ½ cat back exhaust with H-pipe and Flowmaster 40 series mufflres
3K miles on a complete steering rebuild to include a Delphi 670 steering box, new pressure and return lines, pump, and Jeep intermediate shaft.
Complete rearend rebuild with new 3:42 Ring and pinion gear and all new bearings.
New brakes all around.
Impala wheels and tires

How many miles on the car itself?

The wagon actually has 277K miles on it, but as you can see from above, the entire drivetrain has been replaced in the last 50K miles. Its a southern car. We are the third owners. Its lived in Jacksonville FL and Atlanta GA the entire time. There is absolutely no rust and the interior is in very good shape. It could use a carpet but its not worn thru or frayed.

It is. Both of my daughters grew up in the wagon. When we would go to Impala meets or Daytona, all the kids would pile in the back and watch DVDs while the rest of us did Adult parking lot activities.

It would make a nice brother, Moby Dick, to my black wagon Shammoo. One of them actually runs.

Is there a bank that would write a loan for a 20 year old car with that many miles on it? Underwriters could care less about how well maintained a vehicle is or that all of it's functional bits have been rebuilt or replaced. All they know is that there is no such thing, statistically speaking (and that's the only language an underwriting department speaks), as a car with that many years and miles that would be sufficient collateral for a loan, especially one that is multiple times the "book" value.

I couldnt my bank to touch one these...Loan me $35k for a new one,but not even $5k for one of these beauties.

Yeah, the only financing you'll find on old-old cars is on expensive collector models. Even then, it's pretty high rate and very niche market. Mainstream banks wont touch them, generally.

Personal loans are about the only way they can be done. on older vehicles.

Pretty much. When I had stellar credit lo these many many moons ago, I signed a personal note to go buy a motorcycle with cash. Your other option is home equity, of course, but I really wouldn't want to get roped into ten years of payments for a car, even if the rate is pretty good.

Ok dying for a white 96 but with red interior. I have purple pearl mettalic 95 that is is # 6 for me. can you send me the pics. The mileage scares me a bit, but dying for some A/C and heat as I have none. No bank loans needed here but am Im in Chicago so a pick up from the Airport and a few vacation days used might be in order. Send the pics and a Number I can call you.

I hope it does too. This one would be wasted on your typical daily a to b commuter.

Sacrament! THat is one nice looking wagon, inside, outside (LOVE the Nomad SS sticker), and under the hood.

The wagon has been sold. Thank God it went to someone in the B-Body family that will take good care of it.
