New carpet... flooded Empty
PostSubject: New carpet... flooded    New carpet... flooded Icon_minitimeWed Aug 23, 2017 9:52 pm

I posted this on another forum without much response....

The wagon was a victim of a flood (parked), and I am in need of new carpet. Has anyone used this?  http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=6410&MakeId=5&ModelId=64

This car is a backup, and I already have a project that I'm dumping money into, but I don't want to be replacing the carpet cause I went super cheap-o.

Thanks for helping

That is ACC carpet. I have used it twice with good results.

Can get it pretty cheap from Rockauto.com

A steamer, and some time in the sun helps it lay quicker. IMO.

I agree, i,ve taken some pretty scungy stinky old carpets and pressure washed them with great results,
When you dry the carpet dry it upside down with the jute backing up
I hang them over the kids old monkey bars.
When you put it back in the car spread a box of baking soda all over the floor first then put carpet ontop of it.

Replacing carpet is a bitch. I've only done it in a single cab S-10 and I hated it. Took two tries. If you need to replace it, whatever kit you get, do it on a hot day to get it as malleable as possible. That alone makes a huge difference.
