I got my woodgrain re-wrapped at a local joint called Incognito. I picked a lighter than stock grain and had them superimpose ghost flames into it. Came out pretty decent. Next time it visits that shop though, I'd like the trim to get a darker woodgrain to contrast a bit. Or even a chrome wrap.

In a few years, I'll probably put a walnut burl on it with the same flame effects.

Now you just need to replace that black trim to finish off the look.

How does one go about doing that?

Post in "wanted" on this forum (I'm sure someone has the required pieces), and get the requisite 3M double-stick tape to attach the trim pieces. The polished aluminum looks clean. Getting the old tape and adhesive off the aluminum and rubber trim is >95% of the job. The rest is peel-and-stick.

You might need to heat and stretch the donor trim back to it's original length if it's seen a lot of sun.

Flames would look good if they came from the wheel opening.

Looks great!

Did they print the vinyl, or did you source it from somewhere else?

Looks great! Saw this on FB too. There is a guy names Tim Swink who used some black boat trim (roll of it) that is the width of the stock rubber belt trim. You can get it new and stick it on. It is flatter which I think looks better honestly.

Black rubber side trim: Sportwing, 9155 Sweet Valley Drive, Valley View, Ohio 44125 800-548-4867 Stock #ES1383402-R 1 3/8" x 34' I believe the 34' roll was about $60. This is enough to do one complete car (wagon). Use the 3-M tape as mentioned above.

Check out this bodyside trim I used for the Roadmaster Sedan. ES1382402-S Body Trim Molding. This stuff is great! Perfect size, cuts easy and not heavy like the stock trim was.

Flames look sharp! You'll make 'em look twice!
