F-ING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON!!!

Code # P1441 Driving my NUTS.

Anyone had this come on with a 96 wagon? It's some kind of Evap/Purg code. All my vaccumn lines are new, replaced the vacumn valve on the passenger side of the intake, still getting the light.

I'm getting ready to pull the bulb! Please help gang!

More info, takes about 30-50 miles before the light comes on once I re-set the computer.

Try changing the fuel cap.

Located on the right side of the intake manifold.

Simple test: Remove the two vacuum hoses. Remove the electrical connector. Blow air thru either port on the solenoid. If the air passes freely, the solenoid is bad.

Been reading on this code all night. Only OBD-II LT1 cars have this purge selenoid/valve on the passenger side of the intake. Had to move all that stuff around when I did the Vette fuel rail covers.

Such fun. I bet it's my fault. I wish my car was a 95!!!

Purge solinoid makes sense but I have had two GMs throw the same code and in both cases it was the fuel cap. On one it was because my sister didn't tighten it up properly after a fill up. That one cost me about two days and 30 bucks in non-needed parts. The next one I just changed the cap on spec.

I have my egr removed, no cats, no air pump and have yet to see a CEL.

The ABS and Anti Theft lights are a different story, lol.

After driving my wife's Grand Prix for the last few days I finally got the wagon back last night. It has a new purge selenoid, a new gas cap, new vaccumn lines, and it turns out I had reveresed the lines on the selenoid when I did the Vette rail covers too.

So far, so good. Knock on wood!

I will say after driving the 2001 Grand Prix for a while the Roadmonter felt like heaven. So much room, big soft seats, burbling V8. I really love these cars.
