83 Malibu CL Woody

Here is a wagon I picked up last winter in Daytona, Florida and just turned around and resold it for profit.

Had about 43k, 305-4, power everything, 1 owner, mint wood trim, not a speck of rust, needed rear bumper fillers, rear window shocks, very close to mint!

Drove really super at 70-75 and got a lot strange looks on the way back from Florida, it was fun!

I paid $3500 for it, kinda wish I kept it. A guy in Vermont bought it.

thanks clark, but it's a 83, I'm not a fan of the woody 82-83 malibu waogns, I want one without the quad headlights too, the only reason I bought a 82 Caballero with the quad head lights is cause the price was right....Yes I'm picky....

The monte carlo ss suspension is nothing more than the basic Malibu sport suspension, called F41. factory front and rear swaybars, some extra braces in on the frame. The ony differance the Monte SS got were rear seat braces inside the trunk, those rear seat braces were standard on the pontiac Gran prix. My 80 malibu coupe that came with the F41 from factory is a nice road hugging car to drive. my euro malibu that I added the F41 and all the other extra braces to the frame that were used on the different A/G bodies rides just as well, the only differance between my two malibu coupes is that the Euro with the extra braces is that there is less noises and the body don't seem to flex as much. I built it to take a Caddy 500cid but I'm now leaning towards an LT1 swap...
my black 80 coupe has a warmed up sbc 350 cam high compressions heads with big valves, an early SBC high flow 4 barrel GM steel intake off an early 70's 9C1(pre smog). currently putting on a set of headman headers and true duals and cats. But it's only been taking me four years to put the headers on....

Priorities priorities finish headers and get my 80 malibu back on the road for the summer or finish the sedan nose wagon?

I vote for the wagon Pat... Hell, finish the wagon and bring the malibu to WF09, we can throw the headers and stuff on for ya!

God I miss my 83. Tan with no wood. Iroc wheels. only wish I had kept it.
