Rob, the G-body nut working on my Cutlass right now, clue'd me in to this meet. Over 100 Elky's are already registered, and it's also attracting a lot of G-body fans. Should be a TON of cars. There will be a cruise, a show, and a swap meet. Free entry to view the cars, the organizer is asking for a $10 donation to enter a car.

I'm going in my Cutlass, can't wait. Rob, despite being an Elky nut and owning 3 Elky's, is taking his 78 Regal Turbo Sport Coupe, since so few people have seen them.

Pics will be posted after the show, of course! -Mike

Official Info.

May 14, 2011 - May 14, 2011

11:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Confederate Park

See all 5 generations from 1959s up to 1987s. The sweeping, nostalgic fins of the 50s, the classic big block Muscle Cars of the 60s and 70s, and the elegant MPVs of the 70s & 80s.

From National award winners to barn finds. from a star of Powerblocks Musclecar series to the daily driver. All will be offered for your viewing enjoyment.

Belton is two hours from Dallas, 45 mins from Austin and Waco, two hours from San Antonio, and 3 1/2 hours from Houston. We are expecting a HUGE turn-out!

The meet is for Elkys or anyone intersted in Elkys, which means you don't necessarily have to own or bring one to come.

So, bring your Elky, your Malibu, Monte, Cutty, whatever...just bring yourself and plan to have a good time!

Looking forward to it!

I was planning to go to this on Saturday, and looking forward to it, but one of the folks setting up the show was rude when I told him I was coming in my Cutlass.

It was made clear that while my Cutlass is a G-body, it was not an El Camino and would not be welcome at the show.

Ok then.

Hey Mike, since they don't want your money, use the ten dollars admission for something better, like ice cream for your wife, kids, dog... sheep.

nice pics!
would have been nice to see some of the beaters as well.
You know, contrast & compare. : )
I could only get a partial glimpse of that 4th gen elky with black & grey primer.
I think it was the Punisher elky, with a big punisher skull on the hood.
Talk about your black knight model! : )[img][/img
Here is my 86 elky g body.

Nice 86! I love the SS front air dam and colors. Elkys are just cool.

Hey thanks for the props!
When I bought it back in 2004, it was a 1 owner vehicle.
I didn't realize it prior, but a buddy had told me it was an SS type, which was a bit confusing to me, because I did not see the SS emblems and other stuff you are use to seeing on a SS.
But apparently with the full instrument package, 2 tone black & grey paint with matching pin stripes and the front air dam makes this model an SS.
I guess at some point I need to sit down and look at the VIN, and see exactly what specs are listed. Just hasn't been a priority as of yet.
The day before this photo was taken, someone stole my back 2 rally wheel center hubs and a trim ring. They are god awful to come by, and when you do, they are a arm & leg to purchase.
Of course, the elky is just a wagon with the roof cut off. : )
No wonder I like them! : )
