PostSubject: LE2 heads/227 cam 1994 DCM woody RMW for sale   Mon Oct 03, 2011 1:19 pm

I just found out I'm going to be moving to Vancouver Island, BC (bring cash) in the next few months. Mel and I have 6 cars. Because of the complexities of having to move that many vehicles 4600 km (1900 mi) we have decided to sell 2. Because of the high cost of real estate, and high cost of government-run insurance (it only costs me 104/yr here), the 1994 DCM woody RMW has to go.

Mods:

1994 DCM Woody. 128000km (80k mi). DCM outside, Ruby Red, cloth, non-limited inside.
crane 104227 cam
LE2 heads with comp 987 springs
Comp pro-magnum 3/8" stud, NSA 1.6rr.
Ford 30pph inectors
pcmperformance 91 oct tune
LT4 KM
52mm TPIS TB
3.5" stock F-body MAF
vigilante 3200 stall
3.42 gears and eaton posi.
vogtland springs in the frong, MOOG CC505 in the back
bilstein shocks
Hellwig front swaybar
Hotchkis rear swaybar
spohn upper and lower control arms.
ceramic-coated 304SS tri-y headers with hi-flow cats
Dynomax intermediate pipes, 17449 mufflers and 304SS OTA pipes w/ resonator

Parts:
new sungate winshield
brand new AC Delco alternator
Alpine CDA-9833 cd/mp3 player (26 W RMS x 4 ch)
complete front end, including control arm bushings
new AC Delco Optispark
new AC Delco opti-spark vent harness
New "T" and restrictor

I bought the car at 119000km. It had just received a rebuilt trans and brand new opti, plugs and wires. I figured I'd use up some of my spare parts on it and drive it around during the winter, but this coming winter was to be the 1st winter I've had it available to drive. I ensured that 2nd gear start was KEPT in the PCM as it is a life-saver out here.

I decided to cam it when I saw I had to address an oil leak from the front timing cover area and knew I had to pull the opti to fix that stupid WP seal as it had been improperly seated. I did a whole front end rebuild, with control arm bushings and alignment. It hadn't been undercoated so the underside definitely is not what some of the OCD members are looking for. However the body has no rust. The previous owner backed his lawn tractor into the driver's side rear quarter and put a dent in it. I brought it to a paintless dent removal place and they fixed it for $100. Aside from a slight scuff on the wood vinyl, it doesn't show. The previous owner was a retired heavy machinery mechanic and did all his maintenance himself as well. He changed all the fluids regularly, including the PS fluid and brake fluid.

I did all the mods and repairs at just under 120000 km. When doing the cam I added a GM "white" oil pump spring (p/n 3848911) to improve oil pressure and and intermediate oil pump driveshaft (Arp 134-7901). While in there I tack-weld the pick-up tube onto the pump and drilled the housing to open the outlet port to main bearing cup & deburred the edges. a new timing cover gasket set (Fel-pro TCS 45956) and .026" head gasket were used. The car has a DCR of 9.27 and requires 91 octane fuel. I run a Fram BA6592 oil separator to keep a bit of oil out of the TB.

The headers have EGR provisions, but no AIR provisions. With a 227 cam, EGR and cats, the car will pass emissions. I imported the car from Ontario to Qc, and JUST passed the safety inspection here with no issues.

I recently drove from Ottawa to Portage-la-Prairie Manitoba and back and put about 7000 highway km on it. It went fine, except that the AC compressor crapped out and I had it replaced with an AC delete pulley. With 27" tall tires (1" shorter than stock) I got 20.5-21.5 mpg @ 70-75 mph (dependant on speed limit) for the whole trip, which is really good for a 3.42 geared wagon.

The car's inside is VERY nice. The previous owner had a matching ruby red blanket to cover the dash and kept a ruby red pillow in there as well. The sunshades work and are not torn, and the cargo cover works and has no damaged parts.

The car is a fun, reliable, low mileage daily driver. It doesn't leak, doesn't smoke and doesn't burn oil. I haven't taken it to the track or the dyno. However, it is deceptively quick and has no problem roasting the tires and shoving you back into the seat.
I'd like to get $7600 for it, or $6500 IF you return the LE2 heads to me, in which case I will provide you with another set of beehive valvesprings, hardened 7.2" pushrods, retainers and new GM head bolts for you to use your stock iron heads.

photos to come. It's been raining for over a week here.

For the next 2 weeks, I am offering the wagon at $5000 w/ as&m headers (vs tri-Y). Headers have EGR and AIR provisions. I'll throw in a GM "AIR PUMP DELETED PER TSB..." sticker. Car will easily pass emissions with the 227 cam and cats. AS&M keeps the stock cats in the stock location, so get a carb EO sticker from SLP and they are "50 state legal".

It costs about $2000 to ship a car to my new location. Rather than go through that, I'll offer the discount to a forum member. After the two weeks are up, so will the offer.

Left the car at Jay's place.

Come pick up the car for only $3500. No headers or exhaust.

I realize this isn't the best place to sell a wagon.
