| You need to hit the junkyards to see if you can get a taller shifter. Check big rigs and dump trucks. Congrats! It will completely change the car. Enjoy, and welcome to the club. |

| Thanks for the kudo's guys. Thanks to JaySS for all of the answers and the panic'd phone calls. BTW I got the neutral Safety switch on the clutch to work fine.
The shift knob was held together with epoxy (which was supposed to be strong!!!) but it gave up the ghost this morning when it was about 15* out. So I will be reworking that a bit. |

(Close up pics of console?) Rest as ease boys, it is now shorter by an inch or two. My shift knob broke in the cold this morning so I cut it down and re-installed it (permanently I hope!!). And yes I am very pleased. Although my re-builder did not replace the syncro's and should have, 4th is grinding. Will skip 4th for now and he will drive it on Friday. Will have to pull it out and bring it to him after that. Not fun doing it twice, but it should go quickly. |

| If you can get it all set with only having to pull the tranny out once, you're WAAAAAY ahead of the game. |

nick It is fine Nick. Time will tell but I have driven many sticks that have a taller 1st gear. Thats good,. some guys don't like em,. others do,. I would think with that big old dual mass you,d be just fine,. I drove Jays car with the 2:93's and it was one of the nicest drivers,. good tuning helps too,. Now you reduced your luxury station wagon down a notch to a base model, with it,s manual transmission well done you 3,. Nick hmm,. wonder what i could put this in,.?? |

| ...it should Tim. I put a used one (long story) in my Impala after I bought a Spec Stage 3 in 05 when I did the conversion which chattered like CRAZY! The USED Centerforce DF has had NO issues in the 30k miles I have had it in my car, and I think I will be buying a new one in the near future for my next endeavor... |

| Centerforce is what Hennessey is using in the Venom along with all the high horsepower road racers. They build a high quality product and they stand behind it.All the good ol boys in nascar use them as well. |

| Yeah Tim, I bcame an expert on the removal/install pretty qucik too...I think I did it 3 times before I changed the clutch.
Unfortunately, if you'd have known/asked when you installed in December, I don't really think I would have necessarily recommended the DF. I don't know of anyone else who has (well, now had) bought one and everything I had read on ISSF and CZ28 had bad thoughts about it. I got mine for free, so it wasn't any problem for me to use it. Everybody was trying hybrids, Zoom, RAM and SPEC and then the proverbial "just buy the Street Twin..." But yeah, I've had great results, and hopefully you will too. |

| Thanks for the note. All working well as we speak. My try y headers put the cat right beside the slave cylinder (within a fraction of an inch). I am going to wrap the slave cylinder with some heat protection when I decide what to use. |

| Yep, I like the shift knob too. Anyway is your Alum. drive shaft from an SST or is it custom? When the trans is in 6th gear what is the motor turning at 65mph with the current rear gear ratio? From the pictures, the install looks very professional, like one of the guys said,"looks like it belongs" Have fun with it,keep it out of the speeds that you can attain in high gear, I bet the car feels so very different compared to the automatic. ed |
