Posting this here because this car is now sold, went to the salvage yard about two weeks ago, but since I was offline, I thought some folks here might like to see it.

Drove down and looked this car over on May 9th, and took the pics below.

This car is actually a '93 model. I was hoping it was an LT1 car. Also, the car came out of Missouri and has rust on one lower rear 1/4 panel. The rest of the body is solid, and the underside is ok. Don't know how long it lived up north before coming to Texas.

So here's what you got, it's got a good-running 5.7 TPI engine and while I didn't drive it he swears it shifts fine. A/C still works, and car still drives.

The inside is dirty but not torn up, even dash is not cracked. Air bag did not blow. Loaded car, power seats on both sides, door panel pull straps, paint is ok, had all the wire wheel hubcaps....in the back cargo area.

I don't believe the wreck hit the frame, bumper is ok, high hit, but it would need a front clip, a radiator support, and so on.

It is what it is. Hate to see a Longroof get junked. The car belonged to the seller's father-in-law, and it does not look to have been abused.

The seller was very motivated. He's not a car guy, and a friend had told him it was an LT1...something special. Now that he knows it's not an LT1 he just wants it gone and needs funds. He offered it to me for $500. I was temped but let it go.

See pics below.

Damn, that's tempting. If it was up here for $500 I'd have snagged it. I could've change out the front clip with mine pretty easily and the colors would be pretty darn close. same interior as well.

Sad to see it go to the yard. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be.

I was really close to picking it up until I saw the rust hole on the rear 1/4. I did not lay under the car, pretty much gave up when I saw that....I hate rust.

I tried to get my friend Rich to buy the car for the 350, that would have been a great motor for "our" old 93 S-10. He wants to swap the nearly 350K mile 4.3 for a V8 when the 4.3 finally dies...if that ever will happen...and then I could have parted out the wagon shell, but Rich is having too much fun with my Roadmaster to work on the S-10.

Oh well!

Funny statement. We ALL hate it. You'd never make it up here in the Toughman rust belt. You have to steel yourself emotionally at a young age. Too late for you; you would be killed and eaten.
