| All, Tom has asked me to be the Longroof of the Month For September. As I have a new to me Longroof and he wanted the full story. I was Longroof in June 2011 The link is June 2011 Long Roof. I had planned to post from a wedding I am attending with family in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Pic from Hotel Room this morning of the Erasmus Bridge. However I am unable to as I am missing some of the pictures I was going to post. So I will update this thread when I get back. So far I have driven a Smart Car and A BMW520D wagon. (Had to rent a Longroof!) Both get great mileage. I am averaging over 45mpg in the BMW and I am not taking it easy. I will post pictures in a separate trip oriented thread when I get back. And as a teaser about the new ride. Picture taken on the way home. Updates to follow. Douglas. | |

| Ok as promised here is the "Rest of the story." I am still enjoying the YACHT. She's running quite well. Taken outside of the Starbucks in Concord NH. Carrying my model airplane stuff. So late June of 2012 this car pops up on EBAY. Original ListingPictures from the listing. I have built up a bit of a winter beater fund and well I decided I could go another winter with the Lincoln. I contacted the seller though ebay and we came up with a mutually agreed upon price. I purchased the car directly from him outside of ebay. On July 4th 2012 I flew to Milwaukee and picked up the car. He met me at the airport and we drove to his home. I put my plates on the car and started for Chicago. It was one of the hottest Junes on record leading to the hottest July in history for the Chicago area. The average temperature on the drive from Milwaukee to Chicago was about 103 degrees. Taken on the road to Chicago. I met up with one of my co workers who lives in Rolling Meadows after I hit the hotel. He invited me to celebrate the fourth with his family and we had a great time. I went to work on the 5th at my companies office in Rolling Meadows. I went through the car with a fine tooth comb that morning. The main serpentine belt had a crack so I had it replaced over lunch. At noon on Friday the 6th I started home. This was after several hours on the road. It was still over 100 degrees. The highest number I saw was 115. I made it to Eerie PA that night and made it home by the end of the day on Saturday the 6th. I did take the wagon to wagonfest 2012 and Tim's daughter caught it. As you can see I changed the tires over to the tires and aluminum rims I had kept from the YACHT before I switched to the Impala SS Rims. They are in much better shape than the tires that came with the car. So far the only things I have done to the car are as follows. I changed to Billstien shocks. Cargo rear springs. And I changed the stock radio. I will explain more in a future thread. Here are a few pictures from earlier today. This car still has it's original water pump. Odometer as of today 9/13/2012 Pictures from the town center in Canterbury NH near my home. And finally back home. | |

| Thanks Doug. She is a very nice car. I believe you added the VentVisors as well if my memory serves me correct. What is the radio, it fits nice into the scheme of the car. | |

She is a beauty, I have seen it in person. Love the cloth seats, I'm envious.

| The Vent visors are from WeatherTech. Link is here. Yes I forgot to mention the Vent Visors or "Side Window Deflectors". They allow me to park with the windows cracked. They also allow me to run with the windows open in the rain and not soak my seats. I have a set on the YACHT as well. Well worth the money in my opinion. The car is somewhat unique. It was ordered with wood delete and limited cloth seats. It also was ordered with the Steel wheels and the simulated wire wheel hub caps. Looking through COMP nine there were only 2 wagons ordered in this configuration. When I purchased this car I received the original title. I am the second legal owner of this car. I still have the original title as New Hampshire is a non title state after a car is over 15 years old. I have to wait until the car is 25 years old for them to get a new title. At that point it will be considered an Antique and I can change the plates accordingly. The radio is an Eclipse CD1200G. It cost about $99 from Sonic Electronics. I will post a second thread about that as soon as I can. It's quite a good radio and I have one in each of my Roadmasters. The biggest issue is the loss of dimming of the climate control. | |

| In case anyone is wondering, comparables to the Eclipse CD1200G are: Kenwood DPX303Clarion CX609.Unfortunately it looks like none of them are explicitly setup for an independently adjustable subwoofer output, but that probably doesn't affect all of us. | |

| Wow, I just ordered the Eclipse head unit. Looks the most stock out of all of them. This forum is fantastic. Thanks.
Beautiful Roadie, even without the wood. | |

| Personally I prefer the wood delete cars. Besides the rarity I just like the clean look. That is why after my first wooded wagon I went after wood delete cars.

| Douglas, that is a stunning wagon and definitely grabs your attention.I too have this style vent visors and when you order them make sure to specify "In Channel" only. Also described as "No Adhesive Tape" otherwise they may send you the original double sided tape style! |

| Thanks Jim. When I purchased the Yacht it had the external double sided tape type. I ordered a set and found the in channel instead. I sold the external type at wagon fest this year purchasing a second set for this car. They are worth it to let me keep my windows open in the work parking lot. | |
