4.11 rear and new rear brakes - DONE!!

BEFORE: (100,000 miles of daily grind on the rear brakes)



REAR: Started life as 2.56 then 3.08 (just because), then 3.73 (as an automatic they were wonderful), now 4.10/4.11 works better for towing with t56.



Took my time and painted everything up and replaced the wheel cylinders.





Hope it goes another 100k.

The way you take care of this wagon,2 hundred thousand is going to be a definite YES!

230+ now so another 100 should give me 330+...

Watch for leaping sheds.

Sweet mod! Where's the RPM sitting at highway speeds now?

I have not been on the highway just yet. based on my excel spread sheet it should be at 1779 RPM at 70 MPH. But that seems kind of low. I will report back.

Had 2 doe and 2 much younger deer in my front yard at 4am when I put my girls out.These 2 does must not be in the mood yet
because they stay in my yard most all night and sometimes until 10am.Use to them now but they scare my girls.Better in my yard
than on the road destroying cars!

The manufacturer actually had 4.10/4.11 stamped on the pinion.

Sat in a tree today from 2:30 ish til dark and never saw one. I the way home I had a buck and two doe in three different places almost cross the road in front of me.

You'll love the gears. Best thing you can do for a T56.

Speaking of wildlife in the yard, I had two of these in my backyard yesterday. No, not mine.

Congrats on the gear swap. Now it feels like a stock Impala.

Did you setup the gears yourself? Did you have to change the pinion spacer or the carrier shims?

Had to change the carrier shims

I have labeled the dash AND seats, whats wrong with that?

I am now doing 1750 ish RPM @ 60 MPH and I can get into 6th @ about 53 mph (was 63). Much better. Particularly better in parking lots/driveway. Tows much better to.
