Can this unit be used to replace the Electronic climate control? I'm really not liking the landing light brightness of the electronic units display.

Can you put some light window tint film over it?

Vern,
I don't think it would work for the electronic control.

Hopefully someone else will chime in here if they know for certain...

It would, but with a lot of rewiring I would guess. The electronic ones uses solenoids and motors to do everything, this type is cable driven and a manual vac switch among other things.

The manual controls will not simply swap into an auto cc car. I am going to assume you have an aftermarket radio. The Climate control gets it's dim signal from the factory radio. When it's removed, the climate control remains at full brightness.

Well crap... Smile
It got a new radio about 2 hours after I picked it up, hopefully I can track down the circuit and fix that! Thanks for the heads up.
