Tim why book all the way up there, and not the host hotels? If its due to room points? there is a Holiday Inn close to the Host Hotels.

As a added mention - Those of you who are attending the event and stay at the Host Sleep Inn & Suites Hotel. Two people are automatically entered to WIN a Free Nights Stay during the event. Wink

I will be using my Holiday Inn points for the hotel. The one by the track gets 30K points for a night the one I am staying at (15 minutes away) is 10K per night.

PostSubject: Top 10 reasons you should be at ISSCA Nats in August!    Wed Jun 12, 2013 1:16 am

Top 10 reasons you should be at ISSCA Nats in August!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. It's the Impala SS Club of America Nationals. That alone should make you want to go.

2. Whether you love to go up against the best B-Bodies in 5 different categories (car show, David Fornwalt Memorial Sound Off, autocrossing, road racing, and drag racing) or just like to hang and watch you will see the best and fastest and coolest and prettiest and most modified and cleanest stock Impala's in the country!

3. It's at CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY! Yes, the home of NASCAR in Concord, NC where they filmed Days of Thunder and other movies. You get to road race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and we will get a parade lap, which will be a great photo op. No wait, not just a great photo op but every ISSCA member who attends with a car will get a PROFESSIONAL pic of their car on the track at Charlotte Motor Speedway FREE from ISSCA. Yeah we love you guys!

4. Bryan Herter of PCMForLess.com will be there tuning cars ON A DYNO! Yes, we will have a dyno there, Bryan will tune cars, and everyone can hang around and watch while he does this. It's fun and you get to see some great dyno pulls! Let us know if you want to get on the schedule, it's filling up fast! You can also just do dyno pulls to see how much power your car puts down if you don't need/want a tune. But once you see how much more power Bryan can get out of a car you might change your mind!

5. ISSCA will caravan (we are working on a police escort - what a photo op that will be!) to the NASCAR Hall of Fame!

6. The Richard Petty Experience. After we road race at the track if you want to take laps around the track as a passenger in a REAL NASCAR car you can do it. Not only that, it usually costs $149 but ISSCA negotiated a $79 rate for members. I will post some sick video's I've seen that you will have for the rest of your life to remember the experience.

7. We will also drag race and autocross at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The FOUR LANE WIDE zMax drag strip is a sight to behold and world famous. It's the "Bellagio of Drag Strips"

8. Dal will be there. If you have to ask who Dal Slabaugh is, you won't appreciate it but Dal was THE original Impala parts guy who always hooked us up at a nice discount. Well, he's baaaaaaaaack and open for business.

9. Special guests include Dick Miller (will give seminar on suspension with Q&A), possibly Doug Foley (pro drag racer will give a seminar with Q&A), and Lou Santiago of Spike TV's Muscle Car, Discovery Channels Ultimate Car Build Off, Garageinsidertv.com, etc. Oh yeah, and other special guests you will love meeting with and talking to and getting your picture taken with. More announcements on that later... Click here for some of the ISSCA announcements of event sponsors: http://issca.org/issca-national-gath...ationals-news/

10. The baddest, fastest Impala SS in the world will be there taking on all comers. John "Big Daddy" Rafteseth and his 8 second twin turbo Impala SS will be there. Perhaps we may see a 7 second run this year, Big John has run 8's while lifting so who knows??? King Karl Ellwein of ERE Engines, Mike Harris of B-Body Performance, and Pat Gish will be there as well in their off-the-charts fast cars. Even if you're not that fast, don't be intimidated, the brackets allow any car a great chance to win!

11. Meet some of the MISK legends such as Erik, Cracka, Needles Kain, Lance, Shane, Ed Runnion, Noel "Got Bearings?" and many many more!

12. Host club CARISSMA VP Robert Wagoner has done an amazing job lining up sponsors. You are not going to BELIEVE how many giveaways, raffle items, etc we will have on hand. Click here just to see a list of sponsors for the event: http://issca.org/issca-national-gathering/marketing/ So far we have over $10,000 in goody bag, raffle, award, and auction donations for you! Mr. Wagoner has been working tirelessly and relentlessly to make this the bestest baddest ass ISSCA Nats ever seen!

13. Huge award ceremony and free BBQ by event sponsor STICKY FINGERS. All participating ISSCA members attend and eat and drink FREE and friends/family can attend at a very very nominal charge. This is good eats people, plus you can heckle the ISSCA President as he gives out all the awards.

Ok that was more than 10, sorry about that. And those first 13 things were just off the top of my head! Much more to be added as I think of it!

Peace, love, and horsepower,

BK

Guys this is going to be HUGE, as you can see I have put ALOT of Time, and Energy into this event. There is alot of things happening and its a event that will be in the record books.

For the cost Where else can you do all the events listed in basically one primary location? Where else can you Auto Cross, Road Race on a Famous Speedway,Drag Race at a Beleagio of Dragstrips, and have a Car Show on over four acres of a Race Museum?

All the events (Minus the Cruise to the NASCAR Hall of Fame) are litterally within five miles. The host hotels, race tracks, and car show area are all in close proximity of each other.

And the other additions (Garage Pass Shop Tours - Mobile Dyno - Dyno Tuning - Midway etc.etc. are a added BONUS) The BBQ Awards banquet will be TOP NOTCH, and the Raffles, and Auction is OMG Fantastic.

The person who won Overall last year I beleive was done with a wagon.......so what are you waiting for I promise you this is a event NOT TO BE MISSED.

BTW - Did I mention that this year I have asked the ISSCA Board for them to add a WAGON ONLY Show Class? I am in are you

LADIES, ENJOY AN AREA CREATED JUST FOR YOU….

The CarISSMA Women’s Oasis- Features Hand Made Crafts, Wine Tasting, Shopping and More!
Just when you think you have seen or heard it all for this years National Event, CarISSMA continues to impress. Guys this is one to share with the ladies in your life so make sure you bring them along for this years festivities.

CarISSMA has certainly not forgotten about our female Impala enthusiasts; the CarISSMA Woman’s Oasis is an area devoted entirely to the Gals! Whether you are a Impala owner looking to do some souvenir shopping, a wife, mom or daughter along for the ride, the Woman’s Oasis will be open all day during Saturdays Car Show Event, and will be a great opportunity to shop and enjoy activities throughout the day. The women can spend some time shopping with our amazing vendors selling items from jewelry to handmade crafts and beauty products. Relax and enjoy a sample flavor from our Local featured winery.

When laying out this years event, we thought of ways for it to be well rounded, an event everyone can enjoy, and remember. With putting together a woman's oasis we think we have done just that.” – stated CarISSMA VP, and ISSCA Pro Robert Wagoner

In addition, the CarISSMA Woman’s Oasis is also looking into offering off-site excursions for those who wish to take a break from the event and do some exploring! Excursions would include a shuttle to Concord Mills. Concord Mills offers a wonderful climate controlled indoor mall, featuring over 200 stores including manufacturer and retail outlets, off-price retailers, and unique specialty stores ranging from woman’s apparel to sporting goods to jewelry. Enjoy retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Banana Republic Factory Store, Ann Taylor Factory Store, Tommy Bahama Outlet and more. A festive food court, and North Carolina’s only Bass Pro Shops are also part of the shopping adventure.

Great planning on behalf of CarISSMA, I have seen the list of vendors that plan on attending this years Woman's Oasis, and I am impressed, even if some members better halves don't attend, this is a great opportunity for the guys not having to go far from the days events to bring a little something back home to the misses.” - stated ISSCA President Bill DeBlasio

CarISSMA, and Sticky Fingers Restaurant “Helping Hands” Program
unite to help the Tony Stewart Foundation

This year National Gathering event will be filled with Fun, and Excitement. CarISSMA in conjunction with the Nationals Primary Marketing Partner Sticky Fingers is going one step further this year not only by putting together one of the biggest B-Body events for 2013,but are also reaching out to help those in need.

CarISSMA VP Robert Wagoner, and Concord, NC Sticky Fingers Restaurants Catering Manager, Jessica Caldwell have worked together to come up with a great way to help give back to those in need.

The Tony Stewart Foundation is a mission to help raise, and donate funds to help care for children diagnosed with critical or chronic illness, animals which are at-risk, and or endangered, and for drivers that are injured in the sport of motor racing.

We are quite happy that CarISSMA had approached us on what they could do to help the Tony Stewart Foundation, and our mission to help those in need. CarISSMA, and Sticky Fingers has shown us great enthusiasm on how they can help us with our causes, and all of us here look forward to seeing the results of what they have shared.” - states TSF Director of Program Operations Julie Zintsmaster

Sticky Fingers “Helping Hands” Program is a Great way to offer assistance to those in need. The way the program will work is very simple. Every patron that visits the Sticky Fingers Restaurant location in Concord, and mentions they are with the National Gathering, and or are there to help the Tony Stewart Foundation, ten percent of the Patrons meal ticket will be donated to the Tony Stewart Foundation. Yes its just that simple.

CarISSMA has shown a lot of energy, and enthusiasm for ISSCA members, and the event they are hosting, but also for the community, and for a way to go even further and give back to those who are less fortunate. When all of us here at Sticky Fingers saw the devotion they are putting into this years event, we knew we wanted to be a larger part. Our “Helping Hands” Program is a perfect fit to help give back, and help with the cause, and the TSF mission.” - states Jessica Caldwell

Normally a “Helping Hands” Fundraiser consists of a one day affair. However, this year’s promotion with the ISSCA National Gathering will be offered during the entire event from August 6 to August 12, 2013 to help the national charities served by the Tony Stewart Foundation. To learn more about charities served by TSF Grants, please visit www.TonyStewartFoundation.org.

World Record for the largest simultaneous Car Tire burn-out.

On Jan. 4th 2013 - 69 Cars in Australia made the Guinness Book of World Records
On Jun. 7th 2013 - 73 Cars in Concord NC "Unofficially" Broke that Record

On August 9th 2013 - We can have a SHOT of Breaking Three Records

1- More Vehicles Than the Power Tour

2 - Most "GM Vehicles" doing a simultaneous burnout

3 - Largest simultaneous burnout by a Car Club

What do you think? can WE do it?
