PostSubject: 1994 RMW - "Dusty" Sold!   Tue Aug 20, 2013 4:23 pm

SHE"S got a new pimp, and you know them.....

Well it's time to let her go as I get to bring home my work truck and parking in my lawn is not where I want to be.

Photos coming soon  of more interior as soon as my wife cleans all her stuff out of it...

1994 Average Gold Woody with tan leather interior.  As mentioned 222K on the car.  Car is a tow pack posi car.

Visually, the car doesn't look great, but like the Millinieum Falcon, she has it where it counts.
Motorwise, she's 100% stock as I used Delco parts for majority of repairs.

I bought it at 135K and performed the following R&R and mods:

Added RMW factory alloys (had steelies with wire caps before) - tires are good
Converted to Brass AUX post at time of purchase.
Monroe Severe Service shocks on all 4 corners ~ 160K.
Moog Cargo springs in the back ~ 160K
Electronic trailer buddy but no trailer hitch (on car when purchased)
Bent Passenger side LCA replaced with stock unit ~ 160K
New fuel pump and Opti at 188K
New water pump at 135K
New OEM vacuum lines at 135K
New plugs and wires at 135K
New windshield at 135K (not a sungate)
New Axle bearings and diff fluid, etc. ~ 170K
9C1 hoses (not sure if all heater hoses switched over - have to check)
Window rollers done - all 4 windows operate properly.
New AC compressor, filter, drier, lines flushed and cleaned ~ 160K
Tranny was rebuilt prior to my purchase and works perfectly.
Full size spare RMW alloy.

Exterior Issues:

Woodgrain faded bad and needs replacing on driver's side and tailgate. Have LDM sail panels that go with the car.

Clear coat on hood peeling (Hood was resprayed prior to my purchase). Rest of clear good for now

stainless under driver tail light tweaked so tailgate does not swing out (I may have a piece flying around, if so it's yours).

Cracked left drivers tail (wife backed into something) - REPLACED

Passenger rear quarter, stainless trim dented and dent in front of tail where wife backed into my OCC (this car was damaged less)

Spare tire well crushed up (previous owner ran over something - see LCA replaced above)

Front fender has small dent where my Mom backed her Camaro into it and bottom bent up from prev owner

Buick grille cracked in middle (could cut out and use frame of it or replace)

Stainless trim at top of tail gated dented

Power antenna stuck in up postion

Rust Issues:

Both D pillars have rust.

small rust bubbles starting at top of A-pillars and top of windshield.

One bubble in middle of roof in front of vista window.

Underside clean, it's a FL car.

Interior Issues:
Headliner falling down

Drivers seat has some wear holes, but not bad for age

Drivers door panel typical issues but looks good (except for 3 screws visible)
Driver's window switches need replacing  as they get stuck. (same as Buick Park Ave and easy to find in JY)

Back seat, 3rd seat both in very good shape as are the other door panels.
AC compressor runs but blower motor does not.  Will try the module if that doesn't work, then it just needs a blower motor ($20 JY part)

Mechanically, everything works as it's supposed too except as mentioned above.  I would drive the car to Cali tomorrow with nothing more that an oil change (I chage it every 3K and it's up for one).
Only other thing I can think of is the tip of the exhaust behind the resonator on the pass side broke off where it exits the resonator (still have the piece you could weld it back on).
Part of me wants to keep the car and have fun with it, but with my wife getting a new DD, I personally don't need 3 wagons as I have one DD, one that's going to be my build car and two other project cars.

Forum price $1000 and I'll come pick you up at the airport if you fly in and provide use of my driveway/tools/etc for anything you want to do prior to the drive home.
In addition to the front fender, I have a second complete set of RMW alloy rims and center caps for you take with and I'm sure I can find some other tan interior nuggets  I'll toss in.

Given enough free time, I'll get the AC blower issue fixed and the window switches (both easy repairs, but time it a luxury these days).

My description is for the sake of you guys as I want to fully divulge all the issues with the car. Aside from leaving me in Walgreens one night with a bad fuel pump the car is dead reliable and I hate to see her go, cuz she gets up and goes when asked. I'd rather see her do duty for someone who needs a work truck or a winter car, or wants to restore her.

By northern standards, the rust is minor. I will get additional shots of underhood and interior in the next couple days. these were quick shots after work tonight and the car hasn't been cleaned up in awhile.

Wow, 210+ views and not one comment or interest in the car.
Perhaps I'm too detailed, pointing out every little flaw.

I thought for sure someone on here would like a nice winter car with a very clean bottom side.

Been really busy and now the wife's car has a short that's killing the battery in under 24 hours, so until I get that figured out, no time to work on this one..

Seems like it would be a good winter car for someone, or a great parts car. Good luck with the sale!

Wow, can't believe no takers? Your price and disclosure seem very fair. I would love to have a complete spare parts wagon, but I just don't have the room. Besides, if I buy one more car my wife will kill me in my sleep!

Bump for the new year. Strong possibility the car could be delivered up north depending where. Talk to me.

It looks like an Ohio car! Still tempting but I have to resist, even with the overtime I've been getting and will be getting the next few weeks.

no it don't, Ohio cars would have rust on the floor pans, frame and body mounts, this wagon only has rust where the salt air and sea mist settled on it.

Pat is correct. the tank straps have no rust, and floors are solid. Have to get some underside shots when I pull the hitch off it.

Wow, $169 for the airfare. A little vacation in Florida, then a nice cruise back home.
I'm tempted.

Great car, great price, terrific road trip. Only problem is I already have 2 wagons I don't drive.
I really wish I have a large piece of land with a giant shed where I can stash these great toys.
I'm fairly certain these cars will appreciate in value so they're not a loss.

So.... If I happen to head down and buy this gem this weekend, might there be someplace halfway home that I could crash??? Say Richmond, VA to Baltimore, MD area on Saturday night?

Oh, so now you'll be collecting Fleetwoods also? I'll have to keep that in mind.
