Hi, What can I reasonably expect around town and on the road from my "new" 92 BRM. Car is freshly tuned and with the price if g[as I will keep the lead for for my other cars, a vw and an old mg. The previous owner said 15 to 18 around the local roads and 25 on the highway. Thanks, Dennis P

The 15 to 18 around town is probably accurate. The 25 on the highway, that would be under ideal condiitons.

Tom is correct, I got just a hair better than 25mpg from mine on a trip from NC to NY. That was with a full tune up, and fresh oil change before leaving, around town is also close depending on heavy my foot is

My 1991 got 15.5 mpg highway this past weekend - admittedly this was with a total of 3,000+ pounds of stuff in the car and averaging 75 mph on the interstate.
But that should give you a good idea of the worst case consumption...

Our '93 Chevy wagon (350 tbi) does 23 mpg on the interstate cruising around 75mph. Down town around 13. (when my wife is driving closer to 10 mpg)

Isnt it strange how these cars both my TBI and LT-1 run so much better right after a oil and filter change? I sware mine starts quicker and accelerates faster with fresh oil in her.All my cars have always seemed to run better right after their oil changes but these big wagons in particular. And everyones mileage estimates are right on the money except for the 91s.When I really make the effort I can get 18 mpg in the city during cool weather and AC off  and 27/28 on flat interstate roads.Any hills will kill my 305s mileage as soon as I start climbing up.Sorry about the interuption.

My OCC averages 17-18 mpg around town. This Summer I took it from Memphis to NJ with the kids and loads of stuff and saw 22-23 mpg cruising at 70-75 with the AC going. Of course your final drive ratio comes into play and my OCC has a 2.73.

I have monitored mileage around town the last couple of days - all stop and go driving... 15.5 mpg.

Now I am really curious - will monitor this some more. Guess I could use a tune or a bad sensor?
