| I rarely top the car off, but the 2 times that I have done it, I have developed a small gas leak under the driver side rear tire. I found this thread: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.](sorry dont know how to post links) I did not want to bumb a nearly 3 year old link, but instead would rather ask some of you. I have no hesitation while driving, and it idles smooth. My question is this: Am I filling too full, maybe its spilling out of fill tube? Does it have some sort of overfill holes? Any sort of help would be appreciated........I really dont want to spend money on this: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.](again, sorry about my computer stupidity) | |

| Could be the rubber filler neck, I think Fred up here went on the hunt for a replacement for his car. My 95 does the same thing, I just don't top it off anymore. | |

| Gonna try to add my info to my signature so i dont have to make second posts to explain my vehicle....and if I ever get a chance to get on my computer at home, I will add some photos.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will add "rubber filler neck" to my ever growing list of things to replace. Driving a 22 year old car daily after it sitting for many years has its down sides. Doesnt the car know I need it to work ALL the time? Not when it wants to!

| I'll chime in, since you were looking at my old post. Here's what it did AFTER I replaced the sender: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This was on a very hot day, with a completely full tank, parked with the back end down to the left in a parking garage. After this, I double checked the sender connections (fine) and the top (fine). So, I removed the sender, checked the gasket, reinstalled, and tightened. No luck. Filler hose is fine (and yours probably is, too). My problem will either be a cracked tank that I never saw both times I dropped the tank, or, the vent hose or nipple. | |

| If you have a puddle that that's under the front center of the tank. It's likley a sender issue, either the rubber seal of it's getting out around the pipes at the top plate. If it starts behind the left rear tire, then you have a filler hose/ overflow hose issue. I've had both.

| You are going to pull the tank no matter what. I would suggest checking the vent line, and your sending unit. It is probably not the filler line, because it does not do it when it is not full. The vent line is 18.5mm (about 3/4 inch). You will not be able to find a replacement over the weekend, so plan ahead during the week. The Chevy dealer might be the best place to get the hose. I would replace it even if it does not leak, it is old, and old hoses get brittle and crack. The filler hose is no longer available new, if I remember correctly.

| My puddle looks exactly like JAYOLDSCHOOL's does. My guess was the vent line. It looks like it leaks as the gas sloshes around. For now I willl not top it off anymore....
First on my list is to fix a leaky radiator!!!! I hope that it is the hoses and not a cracked housing. I develop a couple of small drops (sometimes 50-100 small drops) when I park it. When I drive it hard and it is hot as crud out I can smell the fluid. I am assuming it is from the hose, and the smell is it leaking/flying onto the hot motor. Only time will tell......and I have none!
