Seems as generic of a place as I could find to place this. I'll be updating from time to time, as I accomplish milestones of the build. Unfortunately my plans for Hershey this year are going to fall through, mostly because of this car, lol. Sorry I'm not too great at write-ups of my projects, but at least wanted to share some photos of where I'm at. I've got more photos of the car itself in my "reintroduction" thread. https://gmlongroof.4umer.com/t11763-a-reintroduction-of-an-old-timer
This week, after ten weeks of waiting, the AI heads and cam I had ordered finally came in! My brother and I put some time into the shop today to install the camshaft, and cylinder heads. Well, I installed them, he took pictures and became increasingly inebriated. But, let's break for what you guys really care about; Pics!
AI 190cc machine work. I bought these heads a few years back planning to go this route.

And installed with a new OEM timing kit. I opted out of the electric WP this time around, otherwise considered a double roller.
Installed the seals into the timing cover. Had it locally powdercoated semi-gloss black. I neglected to bring my WP seal tool along, so we didn't install it today.
After the heads were bolted down, we decided to snap a couple of mock up photos to see the rest of the powder coat in place.
The color is "flip flop purple". It shifts between the purple shown above, to a deep blue seen below.
Cory can make as much fun of the colors as he wants, but I'm happy with it.
It was a long journey, but yesterday the Beast drove home, and today made a 70 mile maiden journey for the Holiday!
We had 3 days left to get it driving(personal goal), and at least a weeks worth of work to pack into that time frame. There is still much to do, but Here's a couple short videos, and a picture from the last couple days to share.
Enjoy, and I hope everyone had a safe, and happy Holiday!
