I bought the one in my avatar pic in late Feb 2019, after my t56 swapped car got destroyed by a stupid girl.
It had 70,xxx on it, but low xxx. Fast forward to right now and basically I have put 3000 miles on it in 18 months.

900 of those were the first week I owned it. 300 home and over 600 the following weekend, where on the way home, I lost the AC compressor. I completely rebuilt the AC system in April 2019. I didn't drive it alot as first as I had a daily.

Easter 2019 I'm on the way to pick up my Mom to go to dinner at my sisters and it leaves me stranded in an intersection. Holiday so 2 hrs for a tow home and hop in the DD and am later for dinner (my sister collected Mom as my wife was out of town).
It took me 4 or 5 months to figure out the ICM was the issue after replacing a bunch of other parts...(Thanks Joel!)
Great I finally start trusting it more and go a little further from home each time.

Back in June I drive about 160 miles and it overheats when I'm 160 miles from home. Not sure whats wrong, but I get it home as you can actually drive these things with virtually no coolant at 65 mph and they won't overheat.

everyone says leaky radiator cap. replace that. Nope! (should have saved the old one, but ok). THermostat checks out on the stove, so I replace the water pump.

While I'm watching the new water pump I notice the AC clutch is kicking on and off (it's hot so it should be running).
throw a low pressure gauge and sure enough it's about half the pressure it should be. I pop in a can of 134 and it's looking good. Ice cubes at the vent.

My underhood bulb burned out so I go and find a new bulb and promptly drop it into the engine bay. I look under the car and see a puddle......of PAG oil. WTF?

seems to be leaking from the back of the compressor. I've done about 8 car AC systems and never had a problem. Not sure what the issue is and I"m really busy lately so I take it to the local trustworthy AC place.

They call me today at work and tell my radiator leaks and they can' t work on the car.
As I dont want to pay them to do the fairly easy job. I go pay them for an evac and a charge ($200) and will fix it myself ($130 delivered on amazon for new rad, 20 less than rock auto and free shipping).

AC was cold for the 3 min drive home. 2 hrs later when I went to find the leak, it lost the AC chargs and the frame under the compressor is all oily. Leak in the rad is in the middle somewhere.

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHH

I would definitely demand my money back from the shop that redid the AC work as they apparently didn't fix the issue you wanted them to fix.

I hung onto my good stock compressor... I may be rebuilding it if the replacement doesn't hold up. Rebuild kits are $25 on ebay.

It's always a love/hate relationship with these old whales. I was starting to order some parts for mine and he decided to repay me by not starting this morning. A little troubleshooting and my battery has died after 17 months.

they didn't claim to fix the issue. they called to say they couldn't continue as the leak was bad enough, the coolant all left before they could fully diagnose the issue, so I was charged for the evac and fill and the cost of the 134a they pumped in (which of course all came out).

I am going to take a stab at iit myself before I take it back as it's obvious where the leak is now, I was just being lazy as its hot hot hot outside and it rains almost daily, making it non-joyous project.

Had my first B-body wagon for less than 24 hours. '95 Caprice purchased in late '99. Did not have my mechanic check it out because it was from a new car dealer who was selling it with a warranty. Found a myriad of problems the next day and took it back to dealer to fix. When shop called, they were willing to fix exactly one problem under their warranty. I told them to keep it and called lawyer (had lawyer pre-paid plan). Dealership owner eventually called me and offered to fix everything for free. I told him his chance to do that had come and gone. He negated the sale.

Purchased wagon #2 a few months later and still have it. Sadly, all my other B-bodies are gone now.

damn, that really sucks!
you start to wonder if your car was built on a monday or friday

i had my 96 wagon for almost 8 years/80K miles of driving - retired prematurely at 156K - a/c system was rebuilt once, 2 new starters (first replacement was a crappy napa brand), one battery.
one new waterpump, one new radiator, one tune up. Never left me stranded any place but home - starter both times. oh, except for the time a front wheel bearing failed - luckily i was in town and had windows down and heard it and stopped before the whole thing came apart. loved that car...

Bought a radiator form my 94 wagon from Ebay, and I just put it in and it is working fine again. One of the plastic side tanks cracked as they are known to do. The price was good and the quality seems good.
I got this last year for $75, and now it is $437, crazy price.
