| I just did some major repair work on the Tank. 1.Radiator 2.Oil cooler lines 3. trans cooler lines 4. fan motor 5. plugs and wires(original from 94) 6. OPTISPARK!!! 7. Water pump. 8. oil change Here's my problem. I am running really rough now and have a popping sound coming from my exhaust. I have tried everything I know to remedy the situation. All the wires and plugs are good and in the correct order. The miss is coming from the drivers side, 5th cylinder. I have checked the plugs and it comes out clean, like its not firing. ANY help with this will be appreciated. I haven't driven it in over a week and really want my car back. Thanks BIG John
P.S. Thanks to Sherlock9c1 for the new opti and help.

| If the firing order is correct as is everything else it has to be a defective plug.Make sure you are getting sparkto the plug too. |

| Quick update - John stopped by. Plugs and wires looked ok. Fuel pressure checked in at 37-43psi.
Ran a data collection using DataMaster and found codes 44 (lean O2 left bank) and 48 (MAF). Left side BLMs were hitting 160 and right side BLMs were 120 or lower. Left O2 sensor was almost dead at 300mV and barely moved during the drive, while the right one fluctuated relatively normally. There was an audible exhaust leak, most likely from the driver's side.
John will be replacing the exhaust manifold gasket on the driver's side and replacing the O2 sensor as well. | |

| John works quick - he got a new exhaust manifold gasket and O2 sensor in on the driver's side, then disconnected the battery cable to reset the PCM and drove over to my place for a check. Fuel trims are now reading within 5 counts of each other at all times, popping and missing is gone, and fuel trims are within 10 counts of 128 at all times. Nice work John! | |
