'94 Caprice Wagon Lt1 of course.  This is my fifth Wagon and has around 95k miles.  I did replace the digi dash with one from the junk yard so runs displaying 160k.  First of all like most you I LOVE WAGONS.. Esp 94-96 caprice.  Roadmaster close second.  I enjoy looking for parts and ways to make it mine.  No crazy mods like 20s with loud muffler but  unique not like old wagon arent unique.

Recent work

Mechanical:

Rebulit trans
plugs amd wires
Front Tie rods and front Wheel bearing
Shocks and front brakes and rotos
new muffler
power steering pump
Pesky Window guides ALL replaced.
New Stereo, nothing crazy just bluetooth and video to entertain myself in the pick up line at the middle school.

Interior GREAT shape no tears, Headliner Great no sag.  Found a matching roadmaster center armrest from the local yard so iIhave extra storage and Cup holders

Now the bad news...

Typical Wagon rust behind the rear wheels esp rotted through on the spare tire side.  Passenger side rear floor rotted through. Aside from that body in good shape.

Looks like Im gonna need a water pump.  every thing I read if you replace the water pump do the OPTI.

Also despite two alignments after the bearing it still pulls to the left.

Here is the big decision.  Keep dumping money into this semi rusted dreamboat or flip it for a different one.  IMO the nicer mint cars are crazy priced and the ones in a wagon dabbler price range might have the same headache and hole in the ground money wise as mine has.

At the end of the day I LOVE my wagon.  the color the yr the model. but torn that I have turned the corner in a dependable everyday driver.

Fellow Wagon lover help me to decide where i should go from here.  Needless to say the teenage daughters in my house would prefer I drive something different.

Looking for Opinions!

Buy a southern rust free wagon and switch over all the new parts you have on this wagon and then part it out!Probably make money if you have the patience and time.Teach that daughter that these wagons are cool but keep her out of the back.

^^^A good southern car is a great idea. You can get them for the same price as a northern car, and they have no rust. You should undercoat it to protect it from the salt.

If you hotrod it a little, the kids might like it better. Kids love mine, and it rumbles a little. A paint job with some flames, and installing Fleetwood rear vanities would appeal to their vanity (you could only do this with a Caprice). You could even put Impala springs in it for about 1 inch of lowering (and an alignment). Some slightly bigger wheels would appeal to the kids too (all of them including you). Some video screens for the back seats might help them like the car as well. If you could make the video screens fit in the Fleetwood rear vanities, they would flip up into the headliner.

Your current pulling may be the tires. Swap the front tires side to side, and see if the pull follows the tire. You could put the front that it pulls to, on the rear, and rear on the front as an option.

Haaa yes I am going to do what I want. Thank you for all the input. I have to remember this car is old and different then all the neighborhood SUVs(the reason I love it). At the gas station just now again people stop and always say I remember when I rode in one of those.. Ill keep putting her back together. Thanks again for the responses.
