1996 RMW Hood Ornament

I went to replace the hood ornament on my 1996 RMW with another better one I had bought. When I installed it I noticed that instead of being vertical, now the hood ornament had a slight lean forward off vertical. It only goes on one way. I took it off and compared it to the original one and sure enough you can see a difference in the base where the angle on the original is steeper than the one I purchased. Both are collector series hood ornaments. Anyone know why? By the way looking for an NOS or very nice used hood ornament for a 1996 RMW.

they made a similar hood ornament on mid 80's park ave or something, may be off that

Sedan and wagon hoods are different including the front pitch so they had different bases on the ornaments. You could switch bases if your old wagon one is nice.

Could you use a grinder and carefully change the base angle just a bit? I bet you could.
