| Want to take a moment to remember a good friend and forum member here and on the impalassforum, Glen West. Glen died on this day in 2013. His forum name was GWTurbo. Glen and I shared a love of these cars, good conversation and "probably bad for you" food! Many trips included a visit to the "Golden Trough" buffet. I still have the message on my answering machine he left the night before he died. Glen had a wonderful and uniquely Southern voice. Kate and I were mentioning some of his wisdom only last night. The cat that always got on the top of his wagon when he would come by misses him too, I think. Cat and Glen liked being on the same roof level to say hi.
This is just a note so perhaps those who still remember him can give a tip of the hat and he lives, in memory, still.

| Nice of you to remember him Richard. My wife and I knew Glen also, not near as long or as well as you, but got to know him pretty well. Different things make me think of him, but I always remember him at the Daytona car show. He was just a great guy, can't say anymore than that. Thanks for this post Richard! Tom Cummings Glen on the left, me on the right My favorite picture of Glen and his buddy Ben and WF in NY. | |

| Only met Glenn once over coffee when he picked up a set of rims for "Stingroo".I told him he should be reading those "Books On Tape" that my brother listens to while driving cross country. We sat for maybe a hour and I left feeling like we were old friends and always would be.There's a announcer on WHRO who reminds me of Glenn everytime I hear him speak. Thanks Richard for reminding me of a missed friend,

| Yeah, Glen was an awesome guy. I remember he drove like 30 minutes out of his way to bring those wheels to me on my lunch break at work.
Another time, we were crossing paths as I was driving back North to go back to school and he surprised me with a random gift of a multifunction stalk because he remembered a post on here where I mentioned my highest wiper speed had stopped working because the stalk had broken. Just out of the blue for no reason other than he had a few spares.
He was personable with everybody, young and old, and even came out to spend the day with us Jax INC misfits at a few of our meets. Definitely a missed friend. |

| Interestingly enough I met Glen for the first time at WF NY in 2010. It's interesting for the fact that we met about 1300 miles from my home, when he and I only lived about 250 miles apart in Florida.
He was a great guy and we liked to tease each other about our favorite college football teams as they are BIG instate rivals (U Miami and Florida State).
He was also a big 'behind the scenes' helper with Wagon Fest Florida for the first couple of years lending tables, cookware, and consumables and never once wanting to be recognized for it. He embodied the spirit of Pura Vida (pure life) and/or Aloha.
Every time I pass through St. Augustine or see a white WB4 RMW I think of him. | |
