Hilda came to me with an old JVC tape deck. Probably should have just pulled it and hooked a 3.5mm aux in jack up to the RCAs in the back, but I had to get fancy. Bought a JVC CD/radio/Bluetooth/USB/Aux head unit. Got a factory harness sent out as well. Wired them up today, and nothing. Checked the harness was seated at both ends, the fuse in back of the unit was good, the #9 10 amp fuse in the fuse box was solid, the butt splices were all solid on red/yellow/orange/black. There wasnt a shipping plug on the unit that could be interfering, and I pulled the faceplate and held the reset. No I dont have a multimeter, unfortunately.

Anything specific to the car that I dont know to check?

Maybe a different fuse than "Radio" (#9)?

Er, yeah, #9, that's the one I checked. Correcting last post.
