Ok I know it's not a longroof but hope you folks don't mind. It's GM and pretty neat!

We're giving my Mom my wife's old Suburban to haul the grandkids around. My wife likes that '02 Grand Prix I scored a few weeks back, gets lots better mileage than the Suburban. My Mom hardly drives now, so the Burb will work fine for her, and I've got the Roadmaster wagon if we need to haul a bunch of stuff, or I can borrow the Burb back.

ANYWAY I've posted her gorgeous Firebird Convertible on CraigsList. It's really pretty much perfect. See the link and pics below. Texas car since new, sold new in Dallas and been in Austin for years. Looks new from top to bottom, even the underside has perfect paint. Never seen snow, salt, and hardly seen rain ever.

She's hardly used it the past two years, it just sits in the garage and my Dad rubs it with a cloth diaper. Dad and I put the Ram Air kit on it a few years back because we loved that look, and we did it right. It's ALL GM parts and even the dealer thought it was stock. Other than that it IS bone stock.

It's really a neat car, and I wish I was in a position to buy it, but I just got that '88 Cutlass and can't afford any more new toys, so please pass it around!

So the guy at my wife's office that bought my Firebird has decided he wants a Corvette now. He's only put 3000 miles on the car since buying it, but in that time replaced the stock, and rare, chrome 16-inch Pontiac SAP wheels with huge aftermarket 20-inch wheels. He also added a custom free-flow exhaust, and a K&N air filter, and some other minor mods.

He says the car is just not fast enough for him. Misty tells me he FLOORS the car out of the parking garage all the time and it sounds like a bumble-bee now. He really runs it hard. I babied that car, it was perfect, and I never beat on it.

And after doing all that work he's listing it for $1000 less than I sold it to him for......ok then....

Ah well, it just goes to show you you never can really know who your car gets sold to.

The guy I bought my wagon from actually called me yesterday. Wanted to know how it was doing. He says he misses the car a lot, but his wife wanted a minivan. I emailed him pictures and he seemed glad that it wasn't getting the ghetto treatment.

Wish I could say that about my Firebird....

The couple I bought my wagon from were sad to see it go. Over the summer I sent them an email with a couple pictures after I cleaned it up and fixed the rust spots. They were really happy to see it was in good hands.

Yeah. None of my real-life friends really understand our wagon thing.

I sold an 89 Trans Am to a guy that totaled it a few weeks later. That was after he covered every possible edge in chrome trim.

My 92 Trans Am went to my dad, who ignored my stipulation that he get the driveline vibration sorted out. He took it down the interstate at 130+ and the rear u-joint shattered. That of course destroyed the transmission and everything near it. He got if fixed and sold it later...to a guy that rolled it off the side of a road.

The rims on that bird are horrid, but very easily taken care of.

I kept in touch with the original owner of my wagon and about 3 months after I bought it she calls me.I am worried that something was wrong and she
had called me by accident.She wants her wagon back because the Jeep Grand Cherokee she bought to replace the wagon was driving her crazy.She says that it rides to rough and got worse gas mileage and was I interested in a swap.
She wanted a little cash too but I told her I wasnt interested and that was that.I wished her well and told her the wagon wasnt going anywhere.I think she was a little pissed but the wagon is mine and I dont really care for Grand
Cherokees either.
Funny how people get attached to these wagons and they all miss them when they are gone.

I see the people I bought my wagon from every few months when they service thier Enclave. They're the kind of people who do EVERYTHING at the dealer...I so lucked out when i bought thier RMW.

Must be nice to be rich enough to pay for dealer service. Ha!

And yes, I can't figure out why the top is up either in his pics. Especially since I gave him the hard-to-find hard boot cover that looks SO good installed....

Those wheels are hideous. The stock chrome factory wheels were perfect and looked SO sharp....why did he do that.....?

Bless thier hearts, they service thier cars like clockwork. Ive been here since 94 they were customers here long before that.
IMHO cars look thier best stock, cosmetic mods are one mans taste. I've seen some sad things done to some real nice cars over the years.

Do you mind me asking where you work? I had friends in Philly when I lived in New Jersey and drove by Maple Shade and looked at cars in the area some. Just curious.

We lived in Basking Ridge, near Morristown, so the northern part of the state. I was up there from 1985-1992, and my folks were there through 1996.

Bought our 86 Estate Wagon from Buick 22, which is long gone. Got Mom's 93 Cutlass convertible from Norman Gale Olds near Morristown...have no idea if they are still in business.

Used to go look at cars all over the state with my Dad. He's as big a car nut as I am. He commuted to and from work from 1985-1995 in a 4-spd 79 Corvette...in New Jersey....in the snow...without chains. Crazy. I felt bad for that car, it of course rusted on the underside, but Dad said it kept him young and he said it was HIS car and there was no point in having it if he wasn't going to use it. I have clear memories of him wiping the snow off those bat-wing fenders. He said it was good in the snow too...positraction and all.

That car had the Indy Spoiler Package and the front air dam made a handy-dandy snowplow.....

I'm in South Jersey about 20 mins East of Phila.

Started in car biz in 94 at Eckenhoff Buick on Main St in Moorestown NJ, store moved to Cherry Hill NJ in 97 or 8 then to Jenkintown, Pa ( just North of Phila) in 07 or 08. Thats when I went to Barlow Chevy in Delran. We also have Barlow Buick, GMC in Woodbury NJ wich is about 25 mins or so South .

I have a passionate dislike for snow. Its a nightmare @ at work.

thing I think when I see one of our wagons going down the road is how CLASSY and
SMART the driver is.I always think that when I drive thru a mall and see a near perfect
reflection in the store windows.

For the non-jersey forum members, it is, or was, illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey. BUT a 15-year-old can do it for you..haha.

I pumped gas at a local gas station all through high school. It was a full-service station and I learned a lot looking over the mechanics shoulder, and got to use the lift at night for my toys, which was really cool, but I also shoveled enough snow and got red-frosbite-fingers enough times to last me the rest of my life.

As soon as I graduated high school I threw the top down on my 69 Lemans/GTO-clone convertible and drove to Texas as fast as I could for college.

I still have lots of good friends in Jersey and PA, it's fun to visit in the spring and summer, and the trees are gorgeous in the fall, but one of my life goals is to never pick up a snow shovel again....ha!!!

The Saga Continues!! Looks like my old Firebird is at a dealer now. The original wheels are back on it again, and THIS guy is asking $1K more than what I sold it for, instead of $1K less.

My pretty old Bird sure is making the rounds! Glad the right wheels are back on it. Wish they'd peel that ugly K&N decal off the Ram Air airbox.
