First of all I want to say THANK YOU for all the funny and informative banter that goes on in this forum. This is my first time asking a question and I know that the answer I get will be informative and hilarious.I have a cherry 1991 OCC bought from a little old lady with 54000 miles and garage kept all of its babied life.It has the gutless TBI 305 but it does get great mileage.I want/need more power!Right now its either an LS series or an LT-1.The LS makes big power and great mileage but is more costly to buy and install.I know that the frame on the 94-96 cars has the flat spot on the crossmember to clear the AC compressor.
What I want to know is can I use my serpentine drive belt system on the LT-1 to avoid the clearance problem with the compressor? This is the only problem that I forsee with the swap.My standard wet dream always is the same. Its the LS3/6speed auto with paddle shifters and a vette IRS out back.
This forum is the first spot I go to when I bump start my puter and usually the last spot I read before calling it a night.Keep up the great chatter

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have quite a find there, hope you'll post some pictures. Smile

Can't help you with your question I'm afraid, but we do have a member or two who might be able to.

Hey! Welcome aboard! Very Happy

Sounds like you've got a kickass ride there! I gotta say, that you should go with an LSx motor. I think the LQ9 6.0 out of a truck would be perfect for a B body. There's a few companies that make adapter kits for that fr our cars, too.

If you swap in an LT1 though, it bolts right in. Wiring isn't too bad either. Smile And it'd be AYE LOT cheaper. Wink

Welcome!! Hello Welcome

I have a '91 Olds Wagon with the 305 too...it is a nice cruiser. I am finding that I am the guy that gets passed now though. I have not done a different motor swap on these newer cars, but I would say go for the LT1 to save a lot of $$ over the LSX engines.

You might even snag a deal on a 350 TBI too. I drove a '92 Olds Wagon with the 350 and it was a night and day difference. That would be an even easier swap. You can do some cheap upgrades to it too. Dunno.

Got any pics of your wagon to share!? Hello Img

There's some grunt in that engine Cool
He's got grip enough too, even with the linelock locking the front brakes it still pushes the car forward Very Happy
