I have always loved wagons since I was a little boy.  For as long as I can remember my family has always had a wagon, the style, the comfort, the memories, mean so much to me that my wife and I decided to carry on the tradition and look for wagons for our family.  When I Was two years old in 1988 my dad purchased a 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon that made family vacations so much fun, my parents had it for nine years and it survived many quality moments with my dad that I will never forget, helping him wash it wax it vacuum it when your little you love helping your parents it teaches you a lot, especially a lot about cars even though when he would work on it when I was that age I would only grab him a tool or screwdriver or he would teach me what turns, or what makes the engine go it was a lot of fun.

I have two sisters and one brother, growing up it was so much fun to sit in the way back, the Caprice window went all the way down having the wind blow in was awesome.  Making faces at people, waving to them having a puppet show with your brother while your mom is at a light was really fun too.  My dad loves how I can still find these wagons my brother things their pretty cool but doesn't have one he has an Impala.  My sisters unfortunately don't really have much interest in cars.  My sister Rachel has a 2013 Toyota Corolla and my sister Ann has a 2001 Nissan Altima.  here is a Picture of the 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon with my two sisters and I nearly a year before my parents god rid of it in May of 1996.     February LROM Big Bluey Familywoody_zps8d940e19

The wagon that I really developed an insane love for wagons with was the 1993 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon that my parents picked up in April of 1997.  My parents got this vehicle when I was 11 and kept it till I was well over 24.  I have so many countless awesome memories with it that when my dad got rid of it I cried.  it needed a new transmission and a new engine and the quarter panels were rotted out other then that everything was mint.  This car was a car that I took to the racetrack my buddy's loved the 350 horsepower engine.  I went to the taco bell drive thru drove all the way around popped the tailgate and had my friends get out and pay, the look on the ladies face was priceless.  Having parties in college throwing drunk people in the back to sleep it off, and going off roading on a golf course, things that were so much fun with a 1993 Buick Roadmaster wagon, now that I have one again I'm going to not be as crazy being a mature family man that I am now  Laughing    The most important memory from the Buick Roadmaster wagon along with it being my first car, meeting the love of my life holding hands with her in it sitting next to each other in the front seat, the Lesabre I had and the Roadmaster had bench seats love the fact of sitting right next to the one you love  Here is a pic of my dads Roadmaster/ the one I borrowed and my dad and I had lots of fun with.  February LROM Big Bluey 1993roadmaster_zpsa28083e3

From May of 2010 to June of 2013 I was wagonless my wife had a 1995 Taurus wagon it was nice but not as much fun to drive, and didn't care for the style in June of 2013 we picked up a 1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser loved that car took it to wagon fest last year was in such great shape was just what I was looking for in a wagon stylish the kids loved it my son Leo called it Blue Rocket still does when he sees pictures carrying the wagon memories down is something that is so much fun love doing it my two boys love wagons so much.  My OCC got totaled when someone I hit a Honda Accord(I think)  I couldn't tell could of been a civic a big wagon driving 35 mph into a car that's coming out of a parking lot I only had minimal time to react.  The car served its purpose well the paramedics said if I wasn't driving a tank I probably would of been hurt a lot worse.  Gettting out of the car into the ambulance I screamed when I saw the damage.  Loved that vehicle soooo much.  Here is a pic of Big Bluey aka Blue Rocket  February LROM Big Bluey IMAG0390_zps1c1fcfc5

To me what makes wagons so great isn't even the wagon's themselves its the memories that are had with them and that makes them important to me.  My wife Samantha loves Station Wagon's loves the style the character and the sound of starting it up to me that is incredibly awesome that my wife and I have a love for wagons in common not to mention that are cute little boys Leo and Elliott do too.  They love helping us was wax vacuum or even try to help daddy figure out why the cars making a certain noise.  I love seeing the smiles on their faces when I drive home from work hearing my 1.5 year old so say dadda's home and pointing to (my Buick Roadmaster)  and saying Wally too!  Love wagon's and always will they have always been a great part of my family.

Nice story there. Your family's '85 boxy reminds me of my Dad's '84 Caprice wagon that he bought new. I learned to drive in that wagon. It's great that your wife and kids share your wagon enthusiasm.

Wonder if there will be any of our wagons left when those boys are old enough to drive?

Thank you I hope there will be some wagons left by then in 16 years god just think how much a 44 year old 86 caprice wagon will be worth or a 34 year old lt1 collector's edition roadmaster in mint condition never mind that think of who would be selling.

Nice story Dan!

Love your boxies.  Having seen both of them, I think your wife's Chevy is my favorite.  Glad to see your passing the wagon love to your kids.
