I,m going to do a complete interior swap from a 96 tan into the 95 orange car,.
Any body know if the steering columns will interchange?

| Believe so, just remove the lock cylinder from Orange car and put it in the new tan column. | |

| Wouldn't it be easier to swap out the wheel and plastic collars? | |

| Would be simpler to swap the entire columns.
Tearing one down isn't that hard of a job but why would he bother when everything else will already be pulled out of the way?

| The columns will swap out. You are going to be tearing everything out for the interior change, and the only issue is the key resistor in swapping the column. If you change the lock cylinder, be careful with the little clip at the lock cylinder, they are easy to break, and not easy to get. If the turn signals do not return, it is easier to swap the column. If you do not want to change the lock cylinder, just have a key made with the original resistor chip value in the "new" key shape. If you do not like the "press brake to shift" out of park, just do not hook up the connector to the solenoid. Now would be a good time to install flash to pass if you are so inclined. Get the FTP switch for an FW, one extra pin for the connector, swap the high and low beam pins (so you flash the high beams...this is another well thought out plan by the engineers at GM), find a hot at all times fused wire of sufficient size for the current (other than the switched headlight wires), and you have flash to pass. | |

| good idea on the key with the right resistor thanks fred,..or i may just do my usual "work around" on the vats,..
How do i figure out which resistor key i need??

I think you're right John,. Just a little behind the scenes,..... I missed a decent 96 roady sedan for the "right " price,. it had grey limited interior,. and i found a caprice wagon with grey guts,. so i thought i was on my way to building the one of a kind wagon with grey interior,. BUT,. the best laid plans of mice and men,. etc,.. somebody actually bought the car as i was on my way to get it,. guy was nice enough to cal me,. AAAAAAARGH!!! Then! The caprice wagon was sold too,. because i stalled on it,..meh,.... So the FANTAbulous oinj wagon is going to get the "rare" peanut butter interior,...now i have to color change the beautiful "T" type steering wheel i got from mike,..and i really want a Z-OADY dash too Shame is i fixed the soft floor,. and undercoated the whole floor pan,. pressure washed the carpet and put it all back in,. then found out i won the car,.... DOH!!! So there will be lots of blue interior parts available,.

| You can measure the resistance of the chip with a multimeter. | |
