| How is it possible that people who drive a truck for a living would ignore a low bridge sign? Did you notice how many Penske rental trucks were wrecked? | |

It's no excuse, but some cities and towns purposely mark bridges short to keep trucks out you thus have truckers that still attempt to go under said bridge and boom. Or, in the case of the Penske trucks you mentioned, if it's a loaner they may have forgotten they weren't in their normal truck and boom. A guy I used to work with did that, our trucks were 11'7. Ryder gave him a 13' as a loaner one day, so used to going under a 12' bridge he didn't think anything of it, right up until he shaved a foot off that box. Either way, no excuse. Know your rig, know your route.

| If I'am correct thats a railroad track overpass in durham NC.Year ago when I was driving 18 wheelers for smithfield packing company, they used the little trucks for multiple deliveries in the city. They hired a new driver and after serving his proby time they cut him loose in NC making deliveries and he ran his truck into that bridge. After serving a week on the hill without pay, guess what he did on his first trip out alone in durham NC.Needless to say he didnt have a job with smithfield packing.NJ and NY are packed with those low bridges although I doubt as tough as this bridge is. |

| Amazing... That is one TOUGH bridge!
Somebody should paint little truck images on it every time it wins a battle with a truck. I'm sure it qualifies as an "Ace" by now!
