| Ok everyone, we need to get this rolling, so I need to know how many of you want to participate in the Dinosaur BBQ Saturday evening catered dinner at the park. I was told by the Dino to reserve July 31st ASAP! Price per person is $22.50 for money orders, and $23.00 for Paypal (to cover pp charges). Sorry, but there will be NO refunds once paid. After looking at all the old posts from here and ISSF, the menu is: Drop off with servers, Plan #2, Buffet style. Meats: BBQ Chicken quarters Memphis Style BBQ Pork Sides: BBQ Beans Salt Potatoes Coleslaw Pricing for the above, per person, includes: meal price, long distance delivery, service charge, and NYS taxes. This thread is only a head count right now. Once I get a min. of 50 people I'll start collecting the money. Again, please let me know ASAP! http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/rochesterMenu_catering.php#Thanks, Mike

| Well so far I have a count of 11 between ISSF and here. I need to wrap this up with in the next 3 weeks, meaning a min. of 50 people, and collecting the money from eveyone.
I'm sorry to start this so early, but Dinosaur needs the prepaid reservation ASAP to hold the date for us.

| You might check with Fred. I know there are always a few who come to WF but aren't forum members (here or there). | |

| Mike, I'll get a count of the non-forum folks by this weekend. If they can't pay in time, I'll front the dough.
Despite all the "oh yeah!" the count is pretty low.
If you're on the fence about it, remember that this is at the park where most wanted dinner. There aren't many alternatives if there aren't 50 (which is only about half of attendance) orders. However, pulling up to McDonalds and ordering 100 value meals would be interesting, and one more useful purpose for a wagon (try THAT in your Aveo.)

| "Pulling up to McDonalds and ordering 100 value meals would be interesting, and one more useful purpose for a wagon (try THAT in your Aveo.)" (Quoted from Ruphraxe) Maybe that could be another t-shirt top ten phrase, and hopefully not the "most memorable moment" of the WF dinners. | |

| You can also choose to have them deliver the food witout the servers...they don't require a minimum number of ordes for that... | |

| Yeah, that is plan 'B' as of right now. The drop off plan does have a minimum of 15 though.
Almost there, we have 13 so far.

| I agree with the servers part, we don't need them. However, the servers come with chafing dishes to keep the warm stuff warm...Have you ever had cold pulled pork?? I'd get lynched for serving cold pulled pork for $22 a person! To have the servers is a difference of 8% of the whole bill. Without them, the price would still be about $20-$21 a piece.
Come on guys, where are all you yes-men???

| We are way short of the 50 minimum, and from accounts of family and friends the drop off service food gets cold fast and the pulled pork is not very good cold and not worth the $20.00 per person. Other local BBQ places are still $15-18.00 per person, but still cold pulled pork. The more I think about it, $20.00 per person is a lot of money, and you all have enough expenses to deal with on your WF vacation. So what about Pizza and Buffalo wings, or sub trays for about 1/2 the cash?

How 'bout food preparation for festers, by festers? I can flip burgers, and i think there are grilles on site...

I agree with Mike, it is very disappointing! Fred and Kelly set up Saturday night so there would be a special meal, to basically finish up the weekend. It was not only for the guys but for wives and kids who were being "good sports" attending WF Now Fred's seat is still warm and the Saturday meal is being "dumbed down" to Pizza. I think I'll take a rain check on that, thank you. Tom C.

Tom C. Tom, No offense, but I for one was not able to do the original menu. I am VERY happy Mike chose to do this. We skipped last years get together at Abigale's due to the price. In fact my bride and I enjoyed a pizza back at our camp site. Tim

| Don't think we have to "dumb down" the dinner. I like the idea of having it at the park and theres more then enough BBQs on site that we can all visit the local grocery store and pick up some steaks, burgers, whatever and some pre-made salads and do it that way.
Would be nice to have it catered but the logistics just don't seem right. Anyone camping can bring along their portable BBQs and even their Coleman stoves. Seems like a no brainer to me.
We'll go with the consensus on this. Still in for Dinosaur if that the way it goes but if not, I'm sure we won't go hungry. It is after all about the people and this way more will be able to afford the wrap-up dinner.

| IMO, we should keep food prep. to the bare minimum as not to take away the the "family" time. Most of us only see each other once a year. Even "simple" cooking out will take the better part of 2 hours between getting the food from the store, setting up, and cooking. I just figured that pizza, wings, and subs would be relatively inexpensive and easy. Lets hear the ideas still and hash this out.

| Wow Tom, time for your medication again. Catered meals at the fest may be a bit over the top anyways. I'm good for grilling on site, too. Whatever. It's all about the people and the camraderie... Who cares if there's pulled pork and people to serve it to us, anyways? Woulda been a nice touch, but it's not gonna effect the time had, either way. Hell, gimme a box of Cheezits and a few Yuenglings and I'll be a happy camper, too! | |
