92 RMW touchy throttle Empty

Hi All,
On my 92 RMW I'm having an issue with the throttle. The LO5 idles and runs great, but it's almost impossible to start up smoothly from a stop. It'll go from no power to full power with barely a push on the pedal. I tried lubricating the throttle cable just in case it was sticking but it didn't seem to do much.
Would a vacuum leak cause a symptom like this?

Hmm, is there a way of checking the resistance or voltage of the tps?

Yes, and fairly easy. It might be better to check the voltage at key on, ignition off, as that is what the computer is using. There's three wires. One is the 5 volt source. the other two are what you need.

Place a volt meter across them. You can stick thin pointed probes into the back of the connector. At closed throttle you should be at +0.45V Asyou open the throttle you should see a steady rise in that value up to near +5.0V. It's if inconsistent or jerky, you've probably found the issue.

If you check resistence, same idea of seeing a smooth in crease in values.
