Hey guys:

We are actually working on my buddy's '94 LT1 Caprice. We have a high idle and an SES on.

We tried pulling codes with the paperclip trick, and although it appears to go into self-test mode, it won't produce any codes.

This leads me to believe that this car may be OBD1.5 which has to have a scanner to get the codes. Can anyone confirm or refute?

Thanks...Tyler.

The paperclip trick does not work on an LT1 B Body. You need a scanner or a cable and scanning program for a laptop.

The paperclip trick was merely a GM-designed convenience on many of their earlier cars. Although it can suck that the '94-95 B-bodies don't respond to this, a good scan tool / monitor will give you tons of information via the interface.
