| Just wondering how many still have working R12 a/c systems. I thought it was pretty cool that mine still works at 25 years old. Not sure how it's gonna perform when the temps get past the upper 80's here in Ohio. | |

| Ive heard R-12 runs cooler, but I dont have any scientific evidence to back it up. Gotta be an HVAC guy in our bunch that could weigh in? | |

I have a 30lb cylinder of R12...Anybody want to trade a station wagon for it? Just joking around but I did come across a 30lb cylinder while cleaning out a old dealership parts department. My boss at the time that bought the inventory knew my dad and I had old cars and asked if any had R12. I told him my dad's '75 Corvette did so he said I could have it.

I'm a bit of an automotive HVAC nerd. R12 does run a tad bit cooler. Below is a picture of my old 1990 Acura Legend after I replaced the a/c compressor completely evacuated the system and refilled with r134 a and synthetic oil. If I recall this pic was snapped after the compressor cycled off. It was also a 90+ degree day.
