| Hi everyone, My name is Romain, I live in France. Last week-end I purchased a 1984 Caprice Estate Wagon from Nederland with 97000 miles. The way back home was a great trip, nearly 800 trouble free miles. The wagon has some interesting options such as - HD suspensions - Superlift - 4 electric windows - 6 ways driver seat - A/c It was sold new in Germany, and it's canadian built. It has a non CCC 305 engine which is all stock from air cleaner to exhaust. I'm looking for informations about canadian 305. is it also rated at 150hp ? At first it was a hearse ! Well... no, it was a flower-car. Tailgate is custom-made, and the cargo area was a bit customize (I'm looking for the floor parts to put it back to original). Unfortunately the middle bench seat is not matching the original fern gray cloth. it's blue. I'm also looking for seatbelts, they are missing on the backseat. | |

| Welcome Romain
We have many European members, I think you may be the first from France. Looks like you picked yourself up a very nice wagon. There are good members here with lots of knowledge and experience. They can help you out with any problem. We also have a resident parts guy who can help you getting parts you may need (Fred Kiehl). There is also a section on the forum for "boxy" wagons, which is what your type is called.
You may want to try Compnine Vin Decoder (vehicle identification decoder) http://www.compnine.com/vid.php
It tells you everything about your wagon, options etc.

| Welcome Romain. If you spend enough time reading back through the old threads you should get your questions answered. Nice to know our wagons are loved every where. | |

| Bonjour,
Now that I have exhausted the extent of my French (I know a little more than that but just), I understand you speak English...
Welcome from Ohio. | |

| The Monte appears to have better ground clearance than the Range Rover Sport, interesting. | |

No it's not, 3 cars is far enough for me and I only drive american cars - stewzer55 wrote:

Almost no off-road capability for the Range Rover... sad. The Monte is stock height, only a set of black Cragar Soft8 on it with 295 on the rear. (I keep the original rallys on the shelf). | |
