I changed the MAF, replaced the Pcv, cleaned the throttle body, with CRC, and replaced a washer motor this morning and all of a sudden the transmission acts like it isn't starting out in first gear when in drive. I put the old MAF and old Pcv back in and it didn't change. When I replaced the washer pump some fluid spilled out when I pulled the old one out. Could something have gotten wet? I can manually shift through the gears. It has zero power until I get to about 30mph. In reverse it has plenty of power. What could this be? Maybe I accidentally unplugged something?

Matt:

Mellow out.  Put all your new bits back on, then do a full ECM reset (disconnect battery for at least a minute).  Something put the tranny side of the ECM into "limp home" mode, probably the TPS in the throttle body.  Do you currently have a CEL on?  If so what codes is it throwing?

By the way, it would help to know what it is we are trying to diagnose.  Year, Buick, Chev, LO5, LT1 etc.

Bill

I'll update my signature. It's a 96 roadmaster wagon.

I unplugged the battery and had the same problem. I checked the underhood fuse panel and the 20amp EMI fuse was blown. So I replaced it and all is good. That one is tied to the MAF, transmission and a whole bunch of stuff.

I have a service engine light but I think it's the air pump. Somebody half did the air pump disable procedure. They took out the relay but didn't plug the hose in the air cleaner or tell the Pcm not to look for the relay. So I plugged the hose. Only way to know is to get a scan tool which I will get soon.

The code is P0412 which is the air pump. Need to get it removed from the PCM I guess.
