| I have a question. My previous Cadillac was from 1970 and had a timing gear with a nylon cover. They did this to reduce engine noise. It was not the best invention because over the years the nylon would disappear and the gear itself was made of aluminium and very weak. My question, does the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice, 305 Ci. also have these nylon timing gears? I couldn't find this on the internet. | |

| I could be wrong, but I believe GM got rid of those nylon gears ages ago. I'm thinking back in the 70's, they were nothing but problems.

| Ok thanks Tom, I hope so. It's an expensive job to replace the darn things. | |

| The LO5 that I tweaked had all metal gears in it. | |
