exhaust heat shield discovery. Empty
PostSubject: exhaust heat shield discovery.   exhaust heat shield discovery. Icon_minitimeThu Sep 22, 2016 12:23 am

Just a fyi to all wagon owners. I had an annoying rattle in the back of my wagon, and thought it was the heat shield. By the back bumper the shield was fine, but I was still getting an annoying rattle. Today I put front brakes on the car, and while the jack and jack stands were out I decided to get all the way under the car to look around. Much to my surprise I found that there is a second heat shield tucked way up high, about under the rear seat. It is incredibly thin and flimsy, and it had broken, and at certain speeds hit the exhaust pipe. Out it came, and the rattle is gone! As the saying goes, happy wife, happy life (wagon is mostly hers).
