official 2017 Wagonfest, Geneva NY Attendee List

What the hell, It's January, it's snowing, and blowing outside. Time to think of better things. WAGONFEST 2017 will be held on Saturday July 22, with some preliminary events on Friday July 21 We will be going to Watkins Glen  International racetrack on Friday afternoon, followed by a Buffet dinner at Thruway (i-90) exit 41. Saturday is the picnic/carshow at Seneca lake State Park in Geneva NY, followed by a cruise to a winery tour/dinner/ Ice cream run.

SO spoke to my wife and discovered that our family reunion is in Estes Park Colorado the weekend before Wagonfest NY. We talked about it and I'm thinking of doing something totally insane.... She was actually on-board with us taking both the Enclave and Roadmaster to Colorado, it will give us a lot more room....then the Monday after the reunion myself, my two sons and my Dad would head to New Jersey to meet my buddy Ben, and then take my wagon and his to Wagonfest, and then drive back to Austin.

That's something over 3000 miles of driving my Roady. Whoa. It would be so fun to use the wagon, if I can stand to take the risk of driving the car that much... A new Opti and fuel pump would be done before the trip, just to head off those possible issues, both are original at 130K miles currently. My car still has the original transmission too...but I just did the second service on it 10K miles ago, did the first when I bought it in 2007. Rear axle has been recently serviced again, would want to re-pack front wheel bearings.... I have AAA, so if I DID have a failure I could get a tow....

are you guys doing some kind of part swap or beer swap ? Local brewery here had 2 beers win in the top 3 in the world in their respective classes (I want to say one was gold the other bronze).

Parts swap always goes on/ Beer swap happened twice but of little interest when it happened happened. I've never repeated it. Anyone else is welcome t
o set it up.

No excuses Mike. I did 3300 miles+ in 2010 with an OCC that sat in my driveway for a year. slapped an axle seal in the and set off. Only problem I had the whole trip was I ran out of gas when I wasn't paying attention and got stuck in traffic on I95.

Seeing as I only drive 50 miles every year, call can't call anyone out of this, except maybe  DMG4, because he can push the car out of the driveway and roll there.

I only need a push if the car is in the garage. If it's outside, I can just put it in neutral.

Hi. Will be driving to Wagonfest 2017 from Sherburne, NY in my 93 BRMW (Med. Metallic Green/Lt. Colonial Oak). Acquired the car in March to tow my sailboat (Victoria 18) and sailplane (SHK-1), and as a camper-car for long trips. So far driven it to Fla and Chicago (26mpg) and still sorting out (minor) electrical gremlins and mechanical foibles acquired over 24yrs/160K miles. I am a retired pharmaceutical and academic sector medical research scientist. so I am long of tooth, middling on ambition, and short on mechanical talent. Look forward to meeting you./ Phil

Then we have a memorial for my recently departed grandmother.
Otherwise I would be up for the 600+ mile drive.

Hello folks,
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Wagonfest this year. My poor transmission's tailshaft bearing just ate itself to nothingness and the driveshaft came out and then wouldn't go back in the right way. Anyway... long story short, Empyr is in my garage up on jack stands, and will be that way until I can get my rocket 455 and my turbo 400 built up and ready... then we'll be rockin' again.

Probably a year or two from now. I've decided to shift focus onto some other projects which are in desperate need for my love and $ and then a year from now I'll give the whole turbo or naturally aspirated build question a chew-over. if I have money, i'm gonna go turbo and make that wagon the kind of drag queen that smokes tires.

anyway, you all have fun in Geneva.

Sory to hear about the issues. Lat year I could not drive my wagon 40 miles to the party due to transmission issues. Might be the same story again this year.
