How far out of line am I with my price. I want to sell it but I'm not highly motivated. Surely someone wants to take this off my hands. It's reliable and a head turner. I've had tons of people stop and talk about it.
Hey guys,
I'm toying with the idea of selling my wagon. My wife isn't a fan of it unless we're taking it to a drive-in and I may have a sweet deal on another ride. As much as I would like to keep both, I travel frequently for work via airlines and so my car sits at home.
The previous had it for 7 years or so and around 10k miles if I remember correctly. He garaged it in the Wisconsin winters and really just looked at it judging from the mileage. He had another wagon as well as a 9C1. I purchased it in June, 2014. I didn't plan on driving it in the winter but my other car broke down and I didn't have time to fix it so I drove the wagon and realized it is awesome in the snow! Sadly, this has caused some surface rust on the frame but the body has no rust. I hate Michigan salt! I had it kroil treated last winter.
The owners before him were apparently a father and son that did the mods to it and then took it on the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2008? I removed that sticker from the back window after I purchased it and have since forgotten the exact year. These mods were the K&N intake with the baseball references removed, the cowl hood, Impala SS grill, Corvette emblems, rear roll pan, Corvette center exit exhaust, roof rack delete, tint and the SS wheels. I guess they were going for a Corvette Wagon SS or something. I wish it had a supercharger so the cowl hood would be there for a reason.
I drove it home from Wisconsin to Michigan and upon arrival at home, I noticed a coolant leak. I then changed the water pump and replaced the water pump and opti seals. It also got a new thermostat at the time. I believe I purchased the car with around 58k miles. It now has 80k.
I've replaced leaking oil cooler lines with AN fittings and the heater core tee with a brass one. I also added back the flow restrictor as that was noticed missing when I was flushing the heater core. I've also had the AC fixed with a new compressor and condenser. I purchased it knowing it needed a condenser and having it sit for years must have allowed corrosion into the compressor as that only lasted a few months once the system was fixed the first time.
I removed some annoying carbon fiber rubber tape from the interior and also replaced some door panel wood as that was poorly painted black at some point. I did paint with SEM color coat the two front door panels in a close substitute when I added the tweeters. There are probably five shades of maroon in the car from the sun bleaching as well as the factory so I didn't think this would be an issue.
The stereo has been replaced with an eBay android double din radio via a detailss kit. There is also a floor hump console in a convincing shade of maroon purchased somewhere online. I have replaced the four speakers with components up front and 6x9 in the rear. I think infinity in front and polk in the rear. I also built a box that houses a 12" subwoofer in the rear footwell. The floor shuts and is flat. The two amps are mounted in the spare tire area. The spare fits in there but needs some work for mounting it securely so I've left it in the garage for now.
It has an aftermarket keyless/remote start and also pops the rear glass.
I have a 3.42 rear with posi from a 1992 wagon waiting to go in it (from a forum member). The ridler's pictured are from @andebe. I also just purchased canuck springs for the front and rear as well as front brake pads. I also have block off plates for the egr and air. All four shocks have been replaced with Monroe's last year. I'd love to put all this stuff on it and keep it forever but I'm not sure if that is going to happen. I'm pretty sure I also have most/all of the removed parts that I've personally done.
Sadly, the left side has been painted twice since I've purchased it because it was keyed once parked on a street in my hometown and had the lock screwdrivered at a hotel in Detroit another time. Now I take the train when I work in Detroit. . .
I'm sorry for the long rambling post but I am trying to get everything I've done to this well-loved wagon. I may have forgotten something. All offers are welcome. Interior pictures will be added tomorrow.
Price is negotiable from $8100.
Tape in corner is because I chipped the screen being an idiot with a screwdriver.
