| I know some of you have replaced the 20+ year old under hood insulation.
What materials did you use to do the project? Was it one big sheet?
An Impala kit?
Where did you source the materials?
Details please!!!

| Dave on a tip from the Impala guys, when I hit that deer in 2015 and had to replace the hood, I pulled a decent pad from a salvage yard caprice, and then pulled the outermost layer of the pad off, which was peeling a bit. Then I used universal black frame and chassis spray paint, and did 2-3 light coats. It dries to a semi-gloss color that looks just like the stock color. It's held up just fine! My next project is to try and find a stencil to paint BUICK and possibly the tri-crest on the pad, like the Grand Nationals and mid-80's FWD Electra and LeSabre had. I think it would look great! -Mike | |
