Vista Roof interior trim clips Empty
PostSubject: Vista Roof interior trim clips   Vista Roof interior trim clips Icon_minitimeSat Jun 24, 2017 11:20 am

Does anyone know if the metal spring clips are available for the interior trim for the vista roof?

I checked my local NAPA and they had nothing. I also looked on rockauto but didn't see anything. But maybe not looking in the right spot if it is non-vehicle specific.

My front center clip no longer stays in. I tried bending it various different ways but it still will not hold.

Also, any tips for removing the clip? There are metal teeth that bite into the plastic so it can't easily be pulled off. I'm nervous about prying on it given the rest of the flimsy plastic in this car.

Thanks.

Try the Auveco catalog.
The items in the Parts stores are a very small percentage of what Auveco offers.

I believe they are the same as the ones that hold the A and B pillars to the body in a wagon, the tailgate interior to the tail gate, and the ones that hold the C pillar to the body in a Caprice sedan.

The clips have teeth that dig into the plastic. A screw driver on each side should open it enough to get it off. The clip should be straight up, and the spring part needs to be a little wider than the hole, with a recurve to allow you to pull it out. It should be easy to reshape.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give reshaping one more try after removing the clip. It may be a lot easier removed. And test fitting will be a lot easier.
