Polished 1 Buick Turbine rims

SIDE BY SIDE..





GRITS, 220, 400, 600, 1000, 1200, 1500 Then polish by hand.

Nice. Someone should have done this awhile ago.

I hear you. I don't mind laboring to keep them looking this good.

My memory is fuzzy...I thought there was a much smaller cap? I like that one,just dont remember seeing it before.

There were 2 options big bolt pattern cars 5 on 5 got this style cap while 4.75 bolt pattern cars got smaller cap. We use corvette caps now and change emblem.

Now you gotta do like Mike did and paint the inserts black... then you've got a perfect wheel.

I'm kind torn.  I had it both ways, with the bare grey and then painted.   I kind of liked the grey...

I like the small cap look. The darker center color sets them off.

I'd be painting those like yesterday with that polish. It'll reflect more.

Did you notice how much the polished rim makes the dark charcoal so light? All rims were painted the same color. I didn't want black and I didn't want argent when I painted them years ago.

I do like the polished look. I may have to tackle that at some point.

For now, I'm looking for a source for two center caps for my newly acquired 87.

Any ideas or sources would be greatly appreciated. Even an OEM part number to narrow the search would be helpful.

What year(s) Vette caps work for this application.

I want to put those exact wheels in my car. I have a set but not the lug nuts. The factory ones used for the steel rims are too short and the 1990 nuts are standard.

if the auto feature on the site doesn't give you anything contact them, that what I did but they only take payment over the phone.

I got a NOS passenger side remote mirror, NOS emergency brake release pull, for my 87 Pontiac and they found some center caps for the locking hubcaps for my Pontiac aswell, though they can also find part numbers too if needed

There are two versions of the wheel. The early ones use a shank lug nut, the later ones use a conical seat like regular wheels. You must look closely at the lug holes and get the right nuts. Any parts store will be able to get you the right ones. Dorman will have them.

Thanks, I have the original lug nuts. They are the ones that are similar to a standard lug nut.

I sanded the rims with 220 grit and then progressed up to 600 grit tgen used my drill with a polishing head on it and usee Wenol polish
