So a wheel bearing bearing, pinion bearing, a wheel seal, and the pinion seal went bad on my '95 Roadmaster. Additionally I could feel the rear diff giving up the ghost since it wasn't engaging every time during wheel spin. I figured I'd overhaul the rear end with new bearings, seals, axle shafts, Eaton Trutrac, and 3.73 gears, because hotrod. This is my DD, so I ordered up all the parts (you might guess where this is going) and had a local shop to do the swap for the sake of being faster then me with this particular job. They had it done in a couple of hours.
I went and picked it up yesterday after work and after they had already closed up for the day. Drove it about 1/4 mile and the ABS light came on. #sigh. I knew this was an issue when I ordered the 3.73 ring and pinion gears, but looking at it on Summit's page it states,
"The pinion in this gear set will accept the factory ABS reluctor. Must use 2.73:1 or numerically higher ratio carrier."
Welp mine was a 3.08, so I figured they could just re-use the factory reluctor ring and roll with it. Should I have interpreted Summit's statement as "The pinion in this gear set will accept the factory style ABS reluctor"? I easily could have ordered a new reluctor ring and had them install it. Now I'm looking at taking it apart myself and putting a new ring on. UGH.
